Android Auto
It does have wireless Android Auto, but it disconnects ALL THE TIME on my S22 Ultra. But that might be more the phone's fault. It seems to be a known problem on the new Samsung phones, regardless of the car. I have resorted to using the USB C port next the the wireless charger for a more reliable experience.
Hi,
I have a 2023 CLA 250. This is my first Mercedes and so far it has been a joy ride
Well except for the mini Android Auto screen.
I see that the Ottocast is working well for most people however I don't know the difference between Command and MBUX. I think I have MBUX. Is Ottocast working for people with MBUX?
BTW I changed my resolution on Android Auto to 1920x1080.
I want to know that its working well on MBUX before I buy it. Hopefully Mercedes or Google will do an update soon to fix this.
Thank you

I have my library on a large USB thumb drive. My previous 2021 S-Class had an alphabet along the right edge of the multimedia screen so if you want to listen to a band that starts with "S", you just touch that letter and only have a little bit to scroll. The '22 EQS does not have that alphabet edge and you either have to scroll past 100+ bands or type in a partial name search which is dangerous while driving and the search takes a bit more time then just starting at the letter, in this case "S".
My phone also has my library on it and the Andriod app I use is PowerAmp. It's search function on the car's Android Auto screen is much easier. Using USB like you gives great sound and the app has a customizable equalizer that can give you the sound that you like. The only drawback is that on MBUX there is a time progress bar and you can touch it to move to a location on the track. That did not work with Android Auto.
I don't know why Mercedes removed the alphabet index. I hope they do a software update to restore it, but meanwhile PowerAmp on my phone and Android Auto works well. Although the bluetooth (on the S22) is flakey, using a cable is not an issue as I have an old phone I can keep plugged in.
My name implies I am older. In disclosure I used to have a shoe box on my lap full on CDs and steer with my knees while changing them. We have great options now, but I don't see why they would go backwards and remove a feature that would make a selection easier, faster, and safer?
A couple of months ago, I noticed something interesting. Both wireless android auto AND carplay would disconnect roughly around the same area while driving, so I am guessing it's some sort of RF interference.

I have an EQS 580 SUV, Samsung S22 Ultra and it disconnects at 11 minutes every time; it does however reconnect automatically most of the time. I have the feeling it's the car and not the phone but it's really hard to tell.
I have brought it in twice to no avail

You guys wouldn't happen to have used Smart Switch to transfer data from a previous Android phone by any chance, would you?
Apparently, that process can transfer some legacy files that can mess up Android Auto connections, especially wireless. You may wanna try uninstalling the app, deleting the cache and data files, then restarting the phone. Download the latest version of the app and then set it up again.
I have driven for hours on end with nary a disconnect with my Z Fold 4 and my wife's S22 Ultra (my wife's S22 Ultra didn't have any issues though to be fair, just mine).
If anybody needs more detailed instructions, I can find a link later and post it.

I am almost certain it's RF interference. It happens in the same spots, all the time, both Car Play and Android Auto. I had to return my 2022 EQS 450+, but my 2023 EQS 580 has the same problem. Luckily, it recovers more quickly.
