Wheels insurance

Dealer wanted to sell wheels & tire insurance for $4,500. We demurred, but wonder if anyone has bought this or any other option?
Thanks.

Way too high, we offer Fidelity Superior Road Hazard and Tire for MAX 7 years for $2,541, a more typical 5 year policy is only $2,245. For quotes, questions, and example contracts you can reach me at (855) 924-1333 or tgibson@highline-autos.com

Wheel insurance is an utter rip off. Yes the wheels are expensive but the chances of needing it are minuscle. Essentially you are paying someone the price of a new one in the offchance you will damage a wheel. Keep your money and pay for if you actually break one. If " wheel insurance" actually worked like normal insurance it would cost 30 bucks. If you lose a wheel from a pot hole your collision insurace will cover it.

Agree. In the 50 years I have been driving, not once have I damaged a wheel to the point of needing replacement. When I bought my first S class, the dealer pushed several add on expenses including wheel package which I thought were just profit for the dealer. They even showed me a picture of a damaged wheel that a customer did while supposedly driving home his new car. Yah right. I figured for the price they were charging I would have to total 2 wheels to pay for the coverage. I agree, save your money and pay for it if in the slight chance you actually damage a wheel. Fortunately down here in Florida we have very few potholes.
