Under the hood!

I had to open the hood to install the headlight protective film. Not much to see. Very well finished. The Xpel headlight film was very easy to do and fit perfectly, very good product! RECOMMENDED.

BTW if you open the hood ensure its well latched. There are 2 latches, one on each side. A good hood drop is essential.

I found that out the first evening I took possession last Tuesday. The right side was not latched properly and the red hood was showing up on the display. The general manager dropped off the Owners Manual at my house and I told him about the hood display. He opened it up, closed it again and noticed that the right side was not latched properly. He opened it up for a second time and this time he gave the hood a good slam. Red hood display disappeared.

I noticed it since the hood gap werent perfect. Finally I think I know why they dont want you opening the hood. There is no safety hood latch, thus, the warnings. Incidentally my lever cover was missing the screw.

Mine, too. Think they must have been trickle charging the 12V batteries at the port, while they held the cars?

Is the EQS hood latch the same as on the W223? I recently attached the 12 V trickle charger as the car had been parked for several weeks. Tried to find the manual safety latch and found there is none. Learned the hood latch lever needs to be pulled twice, the main latch releasing first and the hood pops up a bit. Pulling the lever the second time the hood latch fully releases the hood. The car has no "old style" manually operated safety latch.

Obviously the W223 hood latch lever is not secured with a screw.
