Stuttering tailgate
New annoyance: for the last week, pressing on the top of MB star would only crack open the tailgate maybe 2 inches. This has been happening 50% of the times.
The dealership's foreman saw it do that but didn't offer an explanation.

I believe what happened is somehow it was held down during an open cycle. My trunk was opening too high in my garage and you can set it to open lower by holding it down during an open cycle. However, I don't know how to reset it. Check the owners manual or coax it up at the next open cycle and see if it resets.
