Regen Brake Lights

We did the same, too,
The brake light would come on when the regen brake is engaged , but for the first few "milliseconds" when I let go of the pedal, I could feel the car beginning to slow down but the light not on yet.
My problem with regen is I slow down the traffic too much, not keeping up with the flow. At least, that's according to my wife, who was following me in another car.

The trick is to ease off, again, like a golf cart. If you lift off the car decelerates strongly, Again personally not my favorite but many Tesla owners are well used to it and like it. So much so that in road salting states instead of brake wear the cars suffer from brake corrosion problems.
