No A/C at a really bad time
Nothing made a difference. hyperion667: sorry for your bad memories! You are right about CW Performance - absolute best for ICE MB's! Don't know about their EQS knowledge yet.
And just to add some fun to my day I received a Collision Alert - Rear Left (Slight Impact) alert at 5:26 p.m.! I have asked for a photo of that to be sent to me IMMEDIATELY this morning!
1) Drive the car without A/C until the part is available
2) Drive the ICE GLC 300 (at my expense) and leave my EQS at the dealership
This is with the hottest months upon us, so no A/C driving is not an option for me. The car was a CASH buy. I have owned the car for 110 days and driven it 5000 miles. No kids and garaged every night. The dealer has a used EQS 580 with 2,700 miles in his used car inventory. Premium gasoline prices at $5+ in my area.
Curious what my good friends would do in this situation.
I think I would do the following in your shoes:
1) Call Mercedes Benz customer service and ask them to (1) Get you a free loaner car of a comparable class; (2) Tell you when the part will be delivered to your dealer. I would remind them that if the issue isn't resolved within 30 days your car will become eligible for a lemon law buyback.
2) I would start the lemon process if (1) continues to yield no date or a date greater than 30 days. Obviously you cannot complete the lemon claim till after 30 days but you can make sure the clock is ticking by leaving your car at the dealership for the repair
3) You can contact the GM of the dealership informing them of 1 and 2, and then suggesting that they do a trade-assist to get you into the 580 at a fair price (maybe you only pay the difference between list prices which would be a good deal for you since the 580 is worth more than MSRP and your car is worth less than MSRP).

I have contacted the GM to let him know that we need to have a word of prayer to reach a fair - both ways - solution.
There are several comparable 450's within NC dealerships. The used 580 is at the Cary MB dealer and I would not purchase that under any circumstances. Use of that while awaiting the repair is getting me into a comparable electric vehicle.

One more thing. A few days after I took possession of the car I did a very stupid thing while slowly driving near a roundabout. I was trying to mess around with some of the tech and was not paying enough attention to the road. I hit the curb and the front passenger wheel perimeter suffered some curb rash. My dealer repaired that free of charge during the week they had the car. I’m very lucky to have such an incredible dealer.

Yeah, if they're giving you a loaner......pay for the gas and drive the ^%$# out of that thing and return it with an empty windshield washer reservoir
I have driven the car 5000 miles and that's 200 gallons of gas. If MB does not have the part for a couple of months...see where this is going? A week or two is no problem on gas costs...a month or two is a different story. The GM at the Cary dealership is working through "the process" - as he calls it. I also am working through "the process."

Back on the road again in cool comfort! The MB of Cary, NC GM (Neil Chance) grabbed the ball and started rolling on day 2. Meanwhile, I sent two emails to MB, USA Customer Assistance. On day 5 I sent a certified letter to the VP of Customer Service at MB, USA. Also on day 5 the GM called to let me know the part issue was resolved and the part would arrive on day 6. Apparently the defective part comes in a "kit." My EQS 450+ did not need the additional stuff in the kit and the service department was requesting only the bad part! The GM told them to order the kit and get the car fixed!
My two emails to MB,USA resulted in a call on day 5 from one of their Executive Assistance staff. Very nice gentleman (Darrell) who talked with the service manager in Cary on day 6. Darrell called me again on day 6 to say that the part had arrived, the car was being worked on, and should be ready for me within 2 days! Darrell called me again on day 7 to say that the work was completed - and the dealership called to say the same while I was talking to Darrell
Picked the car up this morning - day 8 - and happy to say I will not need lawyers or other assistance or a buyback negotiation or a replacement car. Basically, my lemon ended up making lemonade.
As for the defective part: Refrigerant pressure sensor B161/3 has a malfunction and causes A/C compressor to shutoff.
