How to jack the car considering airmatic?

San Jose has horrible road conditions, I can't go more than 6 to 12 months without something puncturing a tire. Well, I just had my first casualty in the EQS. I brought it to my local tire repair guy who removed the screw, but then we couldn't figure out how to adjust the suspension for towing! Yay, now I have an even faster leak!

Luckily I have tire and wheel insurance, so now I have to wait for my local dealership to get a tire from Reno. I asked the service guy if he knew how to adjust the settings to jack the car and he said refer to the manual. Funny thing is, the manual refers to settings that do not exist in the car?!

Um where are these settings, exactly?

I never actually looked to confirm the Manuel page number, but this is what I was told.
Steps (page 378 in instruction manual)

1.Vehicle must be stationary

2.Vehicle must be Switched off

3.Turn vehicle on and shift to neutral

4.Turn vehicle off

1.Vehicle will be in neutral – ensure it does not roll

5.Turn car on (only one press, do not start engine, don’t press brake – “position 1”)

6.Instrument Cluster has no menus open or warnings showing

If there are any clear them (OK button)

7.Go into “workshop mode”

1.Press and Hold the Back button on the steering wheel for at least 5 seconds

2.Release back button, then immediately press and hold the OK button for at least 1 second

8.“For Transport Level Switch on Vehicle” message will appear in display

9.Turn on vehicle (depress brake, press start button)

10.Swipe down and select Transport Level

1.This process will take a few minutes until vehicle is raised (or lowered)

11.At the end of the process please exit the “workshop mode” and ensure the vehicle is back in park (have to start to do this)

12.This process can be utilized to lower the vehicle as well

I think I found them in the online manual on page 375, in the section titled "Loading the vehicle for transport". Entirely different directions when you follow the directions listed on page 404, "Preparing the vehicle for a wheel change". I guess when the page is 404, you just might expect results like this (sorry, bad nerd humor).

BTW regarding jacking. Ive never had any issue with tire changes on any of my MB with air suspension. To change a tire its like any other car. You find the reenforced area on the frame rail, jack it up and thats it. One "small problem.... As we know the EQS has no jack, thus you call service or you drive around with a tireplug kit. The car does come with a pump. I preffer tire plugs to tire goo as a temporary fix. Its a dirtier job but works a lot better.

c4004matic, just a note about generalizations. My EQS 450+ came with AS run flat tires. It does not have a pump.

Another reason not to use runflats However you can use them "flat". While the other cars cant. And neither will work with a badly damaged one. Inflators are pretty cheap.
