In line surge suppressor

I installed this surge suppressor on all our level 2 chargers since we live in the country and power surges are common. I would rather have this $100 part blow before my $600 level 2 charger.

It's built for RV usage and is rated at 50 amps. No power loss when I use it.

I can't tell by your picture who makes this item. Any chance you could either take a closer picture or tell us who makes it so we can look at it ourselfs?

Sorry, It's made by Southwire. Surgeguard Model 44270. I've used them with my Teslas and the EQS without any problem. I think you can find them on Amazon for a reasonable price. The first one I bought was at an RV store and they charged me $130.

I thought the Chargepoint Flex charger has a GFCI circuit breaker and is also internally surge suppressed.

I just checked. Most EV chargers, Chargepoint Flex included, have CCID devices in their circuits. CCID is an automatic charging circuit interrupter device that continually monitors for voltage and ground issues and disconnects instantaneously.

Correct. An additional filter is not required.
