Automatic trunk Intermittently Not Opening

About a month ago there was a day where the automatic open/close for the hatchback trunk just wasn’t working. I would hear it unlock using the key and/or MB symbol in the back, but it doesn’t move and needs to be opened/closed manually. I was going to bring it to the dealer to be checked, but then the next day without any intervention it started working again. Now today, I’m having the same problem. Anyone else experience this issue?

I have exactly the same issue. Had it on day 1 of delivery. But it went away the next day. It happened again once later. Now it’s working, but I’m quite concerned on its intermittency.

i brought it to dealership for a quick diagnostic but not able to find anything. Asked me to schedule a full service appointment. But i fists I’ve the issue went away.

let me know if any findings from dealership.

I sent the dealer’s service team an email with a video showing the issue. I have a hypothesis that this may be related to how hot the car is/how hot it is outside. I noticed that both times when this happened, it was mid-day and my car had been outside and it was very hot. Yesterday, a couple hours after I noticed the issue, I tried the mechanism again in the evening (about 2.5 hours later) when things had cooled down considerably and it worked totally fine. I have no idea why this would be the case, and maybe it’s just coincidence. Curious rainwing if you noticed a similar association?

Hmm, feel like maybe the case. Mine also happened when exposed the car in Sun for hours. But when moved to garage it recovered.

feel like it’s related to 12v battery. This issue happened again together with 12v battery warning sign. After running the car for couple minutes it got self fixed.
