Impressed with the EQS 580

I got the call that our EQS 580 exclusive will be produced on August 31 so I stopped by the dealer last week. It’s been a while since I looked at an EQS 580 (January) and I must say, I’m really impressed with the luxury and overall quality. It kind of looks like an AMG GT 4 door, except for the front. It really looks like a space ship on the inside. I love how the interior door panels curve into the dashboard. The dealer had four EQSs in the show room. Two 580s optioned nicely—a black on black exclusive with nappa, AR HUD and RWY wheels. And a pinnacle with AMG interior and RWY wheels. Also, an S500 parked in between. A lot of people have compared the EQS, to the ice S class, debating if it is worthy of the S moniker. I think the build quality and materials are very similar, really no difference to me. I sat in the back of both vehicles. The S is of course larger, but not by a massive amount, maybe 3-4 inches legroom and minimal width. The headroom is a different story. The S may have 4 inches more headroom in the backseat. Overall, the EQS is still large, providing good space for passengers less than 6’2ish. I think Mercedes hit the mark with this one. The EQS is an aerodynamic, sporty, electric S class. We’re looking forward to getting ours, hopefully by mid October.

EQS is a great car. Got my wife a EQS580 when it first came out December last year. Only complaint is that it had a bunch of "missing options" and didn't even have AMG bodykit (missing too). So my MSRP is 124k.

HyperScreen is a bit overhyped, it's kind of useless for the passenger side. you can't display any custom contents or watch video on it.

The included charger is useless and is only capable of 110v slow charging. My own car is a Tesla and I got a Tesla adapter to charge the EQS with the Tesla charger at 32A.

You cannot watch a video on the passenger side?
I thought, the passenger side screen is just another MBUX. So, say, using an USB drive as video/movie source should be able to let you view it. No?

Nope. You can only display factory preset contents on the passenger side such as clock, speed, media control and some random wall paper.

It's a part of the main MBUX, it's controlled by the main screen.

I think I saw an Youtube review the other day that the reviewer plugged an USB drive into a port and then it was recognized by the Media and began to show a video in the passenger side screen.
Perhaps my memory is failing me?
If I can find that video, I will put it up here.

I have not tried this, but I'm skeptical because I don't think the car has a video viewer app to load files from a USB drive.

I do know you can stream video via the web browser, but because the web browser doesn't have a proper full screen option, the experience is limited by the presence of the header and the Url bar at the top.
