Idling the EQS
So when I’m parked and waiting in the car, how do I make sure the 12v doesn’t die on me? Car keeps shutting off after 15 minutes or so, but all the displays remain on. And if the car is off, that means the 12v isn’t being charged by the HV battery, right?

When I did my PPF and Tint, this was an issue because the battery died. The Mercedes mobile tech told the installer to keep the car in neutral with the handbrake on. This allowed the car to stay on indefinitely.

I had found this automatic cutoff happening just this weekend, as, during really hot temps, I stayed in the car with the A/C running while others were shopping.
So - put it in Neutral, rather than Park, with the hand (foot pedal) brake applied, will keep it going. Thanks for the tip.

I’m not sure about your specific experience because I haven’t experienced it. I usually find it keeps running if the car is occupied and switched on. But I have never timed it.

I find that really weird that I need to keep the car in neutral with the parking brake on in order to keep the HVAC on indefinitely while sitting in the car. In a Tesla or a Porsche, nothing needs to be done and the car doesn't shut off with the electronics still on. Wish there was another way.

This has been addressed before in another thread. To keep the A/C on while you get a bottle of gin at the liquor store, there is an icon to press to the lower left of the home button. When you press it after you leave the vehicle, the A/C will run for 30 minutes.

Search the threads. I had a picture of the button in one of them. The button only appears after you shut down and get ready to leave.
The main home button. I only know of one.
Your press the button BEFORE you leave the vehicle. The A/C remains on for 30 minutes after you leave and lock it. Also good if you leave somebody in the car and want the to stay cool.
Take a minute, go to your car and try it.

The reason I asked which home button is because I was thinking that the top of both control panels on the steering wheel, there are buttons. I didn't know if you were speaking of one of them or not.
Help is good when it helps. When it creates more posts and questions, then it's not very helpful.

Working from the central control panel - not the home buttons found on both sides of the steering wheel - I have turned off the motor.
Reading from top to bottom of the screen:
1. Goodbye
2.Home Program with options
3. DC: Maximum 100 w
4. Open Socket flap
5. Advanced Settings, wi two boxes
Left box - Next Departure
Right box - Charging Pause
6. Home symbol
7. Large circle on left and right "OFF"
In the middle - a fan sumbol with radiating arrows pointing upward; then appears rto be a thermomer, with a circlle containing a check mark
8. Another thermometer withj "Climate Menu". If I press that, it tells me to start the car.
What am I missiong?????

It may not be intuitive, but the fan symbol to the lower left of the home button. Touch and watch the temp circles left and right activate. Now you have 30 minutes of cooling while not in the vehicle.
