Back in the mid-1950s, every six weeks I drove south from MPls through Lake City, and Winona to LaCrosse, then up through Eau Claire to Duluth. Didn't get into the other side of WI back then.
Thanks for the tire size explanation. Just recently we were talking about how we used to always have snow chains in our cars, then switched to studded tires. Now I'm running a set of Michelin AS CrossClimate 2s on my original 20" 450 wheels.

I go to Duluth often since I have a home in Bayfield WI.

BTW I figured out why in testing the EQS still provided excellent range with snow tires....the OEM set of snows is much narrower than the summers 235 VS 265. Under normal driving you would never know. But again, hopefully, helpful when the icky stuff starts to fly, wide tires and snow are another less than optimal combo.
Yup! There are a few hundred early production 580s without it in the US, and in ROW it’s not standard on the 580 so there’s lots without it.
More interesting to me is seeing magno paint on a non AMG line. In the US selenite magno requires AMG line, though I’m aware of one very early trial production non AMG style 450+ with magno paint. It’s been spotted around the Tuscaloosa area on manufacture plates. Chassis number 436.
