Collision Detection
Hello all,
My wife and I where sitting still at a stoplight this morning when somebody decided to rear-end us at what I would estimate due to damage and how we where flung forward in the car at about 40MPH. There isn't any notification in the Mercedes Me Connect app that we were even hit under 'collision detection'. It's setup correctly and getting updates from the vehicle (can see 'updated from car <x> minutes ago'). Is this just broken or am I missing something here?

The collision detection in the app is only for when the car is parked and somebody hits it. I don't think you need the app to tell you that you were just hit while you are in the car ;-).

Not disagreeing with your thinking in the slightest, but I wonder how many of us have ever been a hit-and-run victim?
Our last car mishap was when my wife walked away from her cat without putting it in Park. Fortunately, our insurance covered both the vehicle and peripheral damage, but the latter only because we insisted..

Florida is has so many non-residents and illegals that they'd rather run than face justice. I've suffered from 3 hit and run incidents over the past 10 years. The last one was when my '18 W213 was a week old and parked at Lowes. My insurance covered all but the $1,000 deductible.
