... untili six dots

I kept getting this message everytime I started driving after the car had been turned off. Embarrassingly so, now I know what it means. I was following another driver at night who kept putting on their
turn signal, but not turning. That was actually a message for me that my turn signal was on. I couldn't see it (or hear) it as the steering wheel was blocking the dash. duh.

I have not seen such a message but I do have to contend with my steering wheel in my preferred position blocking me from seeing the green light turn signal arrows.

Don’t see how the EQS dash layout people missed that.

Exactly. If took me some figeting with the steering wheel position to get a comfortable position but is most definitely doable. Try leaning the seatback a little more. First of all move the seat as far back as you are comfortable with. From there proceed to raise the seat to the lowest position you like. Finally adjust the steering wheel to a spot where you can just see all the lights on the screen. Rinse wash and repat till you find the spot that not only is comfortable but also lets you see all the car wants you to see. The three dot thing is the car letting you know the infrared system cannot see your eyes.

What you have written describes exactly what I have done at least three times - without finding a suitable safe and comfortable driving position from which I can see the green arrows.. So, I've settled for hearing the turn signal clicking and not seeing the green arrows blink.
I'm happy it was doable for you, but it hasn't been for me. Because the arrows are higher in my '18 S 560, it's not a problem with it.

Did you try the auto positioning? Then go from there.

No - never heard of it.

Found this: “To access the seat adjustment menu, navigate all the way over to the right of the home screen and select Settings. From there, go over to Vehicle, scroll down to Auto. Seat Adjustment, and then select your desired height setting from the range between 4'9'' and 7'3''. Once your desired height is chosen, simply hit Select, and the seat and steering wheel will automatically adjust to the recommended settings for the given height.“

Go to the seat menu
One of the options is aomatuc seat positioning. Follow the instructions which are basically to enter your height. Use that positiin as your "zero" and adjust from there.

Tried that. Not even close to what's comfortable for me. Steering wheel was about 1" higher than I like. The seat back felt like I was tipped forward. It's a very personal issue, not one that some engineer can fix.

It will kinda, sorta get you to the spot. For me, the seat was too high so I lowered it and ended up in the right spot. The is no doubt that finding the perfect spot can be challenging. You have to get used to the fact that the hood will always be invisible and that the surround canera is the primary parking aid. If you are used to driving with your hands at the top of the wheel....thats another no no. The positioning of your arms has to strictly be 10 and 2. There is no way around it the aero style restricts the adjustability of the seating range. But it can definitely be done. Now when I drive our GLS it feels wierd

Thanks. As posted, I will give it a try,

Due to my typical driving habits, (No long distances, small town short hauls only) and being away from the car due to illness, I haven't accumulated a lot of miles since taking delivery a tad over ten months ago - my 450 is the first one ordered and delivered by MBCincy - I don't consider it a bad problem. I adjusted very quickly to not seeing the full hood. My hands on wheel position is basically 10 and 2.

We'll see.

Absolutely not his fault, and not his responsibility. - He rode up here on his bike on a Saturday and straitened out a Mercedes Me problem I had created. Way beyond the call of duty. He had turned me over to the young E tech guy who was there last December - forgotten his name, he may not still be there - and the young guy had a very limited knowledge when I later phoned him a couple of times. Of course it was all new to everyone last winter.

You should be more respectful of your elders! How many E cars have you sold?

Sorry, Lou. I don't think my sarcasm was properly conveyed over a forum format. Apologies if you took offense to my comment, it was said in jest.

Zach is a great sales associate and deserves the praise he's received from all of his customers over the last 33 years.

Back to the original posting about the 6 dots:

It means there is an obstacle between your face and the camera in the dashboard - Mercedes monitors your eyes to warn you if you fall asleep. It happens typically when you drive holding the wheel at the top. Move your hand to the side and the message goes away.

He couldnt see the turn signals. What was in the way was the steering wheel.

The automatic seat and steering wheel positioning by your height is absurd. It takes for granted everyone is built the same and weighs the same. I am much taller from my waist up than most men my height and I always need the steering wheel in the upper position to not visually block out the screen. I get the “six dot” message every time I turn the EQS on…..

Well, you win some, you lose some - c'est la vie..

Clock settings and seat settings:
As reported elsewhere, when I started the car this morning, the analog clock and the digital clocks had both reset automatically to standard time. I didn't bother to check settings so don't know what they are, and if the dealer set them appropriately for our locale. All I know is that the clocks have adjusted for me both to and from daylight saving time.

Seat settings - I could never reach the point described above - "Auto. Seat Adjustment." Rather than spend time there, I decided to use my door's memorized settings for entry/exit and driving, and if, I say , if, not seeing the turn arrows became a problem, I would raise the steering wheel. End of story.

Thanks to all for your suggestions!
