Gestures

Has anyone inadvertently opened the sunroof by accident with a gesture? Certainly, worries me driving through the rain in Florida or a carwash

Not accidently but I open it frequently using gestures or the button by swiping or hard press. I think (not positive) it has smartness to auto close the sunroof and windows if it detects rain when parked. So that could extend to when driving but maybe not.

I haven't in a rain/carwash situation, but I have inadvertently opened my sunroof several times while driving. But it never seems to work when I DO want to open the shade or sunroof via gesture. Very annoying. The only gesture that works reliably for me is reaching into the passenger seat turns on the reading light. I may have to disable this questionable feature.

I suspected it would be a PITA, I conciously avoided it.

You can turn off gestures I think. Can't be certain because my car doesn't have that feature. It isn't compatible with Neva Grey leather - another plus of Neva Grey.

I'd close the sunshade at car wash. If you accidentally use the gesture, only the sunshade opens. This if one prefers gestures at other times.
