Hood Open Warning Light
We've only had the car for a couple days, and got our first warning light. When accelerating quickly, the hood open warning light comes on, with an audible warning sound that continues to go off until the car is shut off. Anyone had this? I'm assuming just a touchy sensor.

Not yet. My wife doesn't want me messing with it, but I'll convince her to let me give it a try. Perhaps the hood alignment is slightly off, or something. I already researched how to open the supposed sealed/only accessible by technician front hood.

The lever is under the steering column to the left just like many other MB’s. The tiny cover over the lever might have a screw holding it on but some are missing. If you just open and close the hood there is no danger. Everything under the hood electrical is covered or insulated and not near the latch.
If for no other reason I looked under the hood to find the red positive 12v battery post in case it ever needed to be charged on the road to get the EQS started.

Okay, so maybe the problem has been solved. My wife called me on Facetime from work, and I talked her through how to open it. There is apparently not a traditional latch like on a conventional car, but she closed the hood firmly and reports that it seemed more well set. She took it for a quick (literally) test drive, and no warning light. So hopefully when she drives home tonight the problem is solved. Would be great if it were this simple.

I think it is that simple. When I drove the car home for the first time almost a year ago, I had that same warning. The GM stopped by on his way home and he opened the hood and then closed it vigorously. Bingo! Problem solved. He noticed when he first got here that the hood was not quite aligned properly on the left side when looking at it from the front of the car. So he knew what the problem was was and opening and closing it hard did the trick.

Yup, that simple. Based on my previous over complicated car experience, I thought it would be a sensor or something, but it just needed a firm closing.
Surely the hood was opened during processing, and one of the latches is not fully engaded. Open the hood and give it a good drop. The easiest way to see if it's fully closed is to look where the rear portion of the wheel arch and hood align. They should be perfectly flush and straight on both sides. If the are not, there's a latch still loose.
Mine worked fine until I just put an ecu upgrade in. Now when I accelerate hard the light comes on until I slow down the it shuts off. Any idea where the adjust ment for the switch is? Because I’m not giving up accelerating. 😬
