Why prices are dropping for EV’s.

I’m interested in learning about your deal but your settings indicate you’ve chosen not to receive DM’s…

Was it Sacramento MB? I was really pleased with my deal...worth to it ship it to the midwest, as price more than made up for the transport cost. Plus, apparently CA caps the scam doc fees at $85. I've seen dealers now charging a % of the deal cost for a document fee--like it is harder to enter data in a computer if you have to hit an extra digit.

Sacremento's website shows 7500 lease incentive, 2500 incentive bonus and 10000 dealer incentive on any EQS.

Well that's down to the $20k off I expected. But with the economic outlook now, it should be 20% off purchase price, not lease to get that loophole $7500 off.

2022 EQS 450
Well I just had a disappointing negotiation at a DFW Mercedes dealer. I was trying to trade my 2022 EQS 450+ with a window sticker of $120,000 at delivery in March of 2022. Thankfully it is on a two year lease because I was skeptical about the EQS maintaining value. I was trading for a SL55 and when the sales manager offered $66,000 for the trade, I was flabbergasted at the 55% drop in 1 year. This is not for a dog car, obsidian black with a grey interior and 7500 miles with no damage history. He stated the auction prices on the EQS cratered badly just recently. Needless to say I left without the SL55. So I will stay with the EQS until March of next year and let MBFS take the hit when I return the car from lease.

2022 Mercedes EQS 580
I've wondered for several years now how my neighbors do it...big houses, multiple kids, private school, country club, and 2 new SUV's. And, they are young. It never would have occurred to me to buy such an expensive lifestyle when I was 35. They all must be running close to the edge, if mommy and daddy are not subsidizing their lifestyle.
My 2 year old son goes to a private school, and all the parents are young and comfortably affluent. I don’t get the impression they are spending beyond their means. Some are two income professionals who are doctors. Others are entrepreneurs. And of course a few are from generational wealth. We have some nice cars in the garage Mercedes EQS580, Mercedes GLE450 and the Corvette. But we aren’t running anywhere near the edge. I would say the house with the cars is a small fraction of our net worth. I spend in a way that my wife won’t have to worry if something happens to me. I just happened to have a solid income at a young age, and I am very very good at investing. Early investor in Amazon, Apple, Tesla, Facebook, Google, Nvidia, Shopify. Lots of stocks where I have 1000X returns. I spot amazing companies early and jump on them. I also have access to some PE funds which offer investments average people don’t get to see.

I think you will be amazed how people can make money at younger ages these days. There are more entrepreneurship opportunities and more rewards for entrepreneurs than ever.

Don't feel too bad. You didn't know you were going to get to ride the wave of artificially suppressed interest rates like the other investing "genius's"

Air conditioning not keeping up in Summer, trim coming off doors, uneven gaps at doors and trunks, service team will not return my calls, car bricked on the freeway, once I made a deposit have not heard from my sales rep in three months, no Apple Car Play, screens go black consistently, front seats squeak, does not get the advertised mileage, brand new tires with sidewall bulge’s …..

I don’t expect a $135,000 dollar car to have uneven panel gaps. My 580 SUV has a build number below 1,000 and is perfect….

There were definitely people complaining about the panel gaps on the EQS during the initial batch run. Glad you don't have that issue with your SUV but as far as I recalled, the SUV never had panel gap issues to begin with, only was for the sedan, it was MB's first fully electric vehicle after all on a fully electric platform.

The problem with the Lucid body panels being out of line is that the factory was sending out the cars expecting the service centers to straighten them out. Some small service centers were backed up with 35-40 brand new cars to be worked on and a huge log jam resulted. Local friend went down to the service center here in Houston just to visit his brand new Lucid Grand Touring that eventually took right at a month to fix. Can you imagine a MB factory sending unfinished cars to their dealerships expecting them to do the final work? 🤨
