Pillows/headrests

Just took delivery of my EQS 450+ today. Wow. What a machine. The rear seats have pillows on the headrests, that are held in pace by a Velcro strap. Are those same pillows available for the front seats??

I’ve had my EQS SUV 580 for two days and the head rest pillows really bother me when I’m driving. The pillow touches my head when driving and the only way to stop that is to relive the seat back which doesn’t work for me. Once I removed the Velcro attached pillow, life behind the wheel is vastly improved. Right know I’ve only done the driver side. If my wife has issues I will remove hers as well and will make the aesthetics more appealing.

Exactly what I did in my 450…couldn’t wear a brimmed hat which I’m old fashioned enough to do in all seasons.

I also sit in all my vehicles where my head does not normally touch the head rest.

One thing to try. Move the pillow down so that it fills the gap between your neck/lower head and the headrest. I found this very comfortable and supportive of my neck for longer trips.

thanks for suggestion. I did try it and it still bothered me. The pillow fits nicely into a zip lock bag, so I can preserve it for when I sell car in future. 😃

it depends on the options. My 580 came with pillows in the back but not in front due to AMG package upgrade.

I'm pretty sure that if you have the sport seats (AMG interior upgrade) the headrest pillows won't fit on those unique headrests

The headrests with the loose pillows as in my 2022 S580 are, in my humble opinion, HORRIBLE! The headrests that were fitted to the previous, 2014-2020 S Class sedans were the nicest, most comfortable that I have ever experienced and these new ones with the crummy pillows are such a disappointment.

The pillows are made of this sort of faux suede material that can easily become soiled. They are constantly moving around and never seem to be in the right place—if there is a right place. AND, that’s just for me, with my reasonably short hair. My wife is another story altogether! After our first ten minute ride in the new car, she removed hers and never wants it back. My take is that these cheap, chintzy pillows were yet another failed attempt at providing a “luxury” feature, with the designer’s eye clearly focused on the Chinese market. Boy, I sure miss those marvelous headrests in the previous S Class cars! Why, when they have something “perfect,” must they change it? Just like the idiotic pop-out door handles!

I agree with all of your points. These are so disappointing on so many points. To me, that are so uncomfortable and the pillows get "in the way". It's very distracting to have something touching your head while driving. After 1 day, I removed all 4 pillows and stored them in an air tight zip lock bag....ready for when I sell/trade the car 3 years from now. My other gripe is the unlock able glove box!

I came out of an Audi ETron Edition One and this car is a big improvement on range and ride. I am also amazed with the 4-wheel steering. It have the car feel small when maneuvering in tight spaces.

Does anyone know how to keep them clean? I got the beige ones and I can definitely see them getting dirty after a while.

Looks like you can take out the cushion and machine wash the casing, but can you?

EQS450 SUV
I've had my 2023 EQS 450+ SUV for about 3 months now. It is a dream machine with minor issues:
- The signal handle bar feels really rough, especially for my wife when she gets her nail done . I was given a EQB loaner for a day and signal handle bar was a lot softer.
- It would have been nice to be bale to tilt up the sunroof without having to open the whole headliner / cover which let's heat & light of the sun in.
- I'm still working on the radio to see if I can have the stations show as a list going up and down rather than icon going left and right. By default it goes back to left and right.
- The touch volume control control on the steering wheel is not very user friendly.
- Trying to use the heated seat without looking at the button usually makes you mistake it by memory seat and other options on that panel.
- It is nice that you can turn off the center screen but too bad that you can't really dim down the speedometer screen. Driving in the desert at night is not very comfortable with that bright light. Yo can dim it so much but its not enough.
And couple of other small things, but the car is a dream to drive.

As part of my last updates I got 2 extra lap pillows, the regular kind. The lap of luxury indeed
BTW AMG style interiors (as in the 580) are not front seat pillow friendly, thus are not supplied or available.

I would be interested in buying both front seat pillows from you, depending on the color?
