The EQE (and EQS) definitely have an odd upright seating position, but at least it makes the leg position and legroom excellent.

If anyone ponders upon an EQE and has occasional rear passengers, I suggest giving more consideration of the rear seats during the test drive.
I do not own an EQE (ie no extensive experience) but I think the sitting position of the rear seats is, kind of, odd. It is more 'upright' than I would prefer. I think it is because the C-pillar is so slant that it cuts into the interior room, forcing the rear seats to be less inclined.
Actually, this happens to the A-pillar too, which is also slant enough that it makes the driver and the front passenger feel more 'confining'.
Anyway, this is just my casual observation from my limited time with an EQE in the showroom.

Presently 19 S560 SEDAN, 2014 XK, SOLD GLE 450e
I've the S560 and EQS 450. IF you want to GO somewhere, get the S560 or newer. IF you just want a car for the region/city, get the EQS. It's a bit more comfortable than the S560 imho and a bit quiter.
I ridded myself of a Tesla S Model because its range is NOT the 405 miles on interstates and noiser and not as comfortable as the EQS 460.
Tons of people want faster charging for a EV but.........fast charging presently kills your battery each time you do a fast charge. That's why Mercedes recommends just charging to 80 percent much like Tesla does. Both the Tesla and EQS have the same range imho.. Tesla does have its Superchargers on the hwys and that is a plus if you have but one car and it's a Tesla. I find EV America is not as reliable and when you do find a station it has but five chargers of which, you can count on it, only three out of five are functional. All just imho and nothing more or less.

Owning an ‘18 S560 and having owned a ‘22 EQS450 for over a year, my wife and I could not agree more strongly.

Both are great options. You can't go wrong with both. With EQS, no maintenance, no running costs (fuel/charging) for 2 years is huge saving. If you plan to do long trips s class may be better as charging infra is still not there I feel. Otherwise both are solid cruisers. If you plan to keep for long, get the S but do consider maintenance, fuel cost as it is on higher end. It was one of the major reasons why I switched. Saving close to 17k in 2 years without any repairs is huge.

I agree. My primary use will be to use it locally as much as possible. For long drives will use SUV. Having spend more time, I feel certain things are definitely compromised on EQS vs the S but overall EQS is well worth the S class of EVs. I noticed the range is very very close to its EPA rating and sometimes its more than that. I am getting 375-380 range easily. OTOH i used to get 16-17mpg on S550 and I would drive it much slower than EQS. This one I drive as if driving a compact sedan.
Agree 100% with you on the charging. Even locally, out of 5 chargers, only 2 charger work near Safeway, similarly near mall, 8 work out of 10. Next to is tesla chargers where all chargers work. EA has long way to go. I hope in 2 years things get better.
