Anyone ever get the internet hotspot to work?
Anyone ever solve the problem of the internet hotspot having no internet connectivity?
(Devices can connect to it but cannot connect through it to the internet. And yes, the subscription is activated.)

I went with TMobile data plan and it is working well. Before that I used my iPhone hotspot and connected it through and it also worked well. Make sure you have the specific internet connection in the settings as sometimes it does not auto connect with cellphone based personal ones. With TMobile it connects really well and I can have other devices connect to the MB hotspot from there on.

T-Mobile was excellent in troubleshooting and it is always interesting to get phone calls from Hamburg. 🇩🇪

I am having a similar issue of having being able to surf via the web browser of the car, but no internet via the MBUX wifi hotspot. The following is the response I got :Thank you for the pleasant phone call in regard to the connectivity challenge affecting your HotSpot Drive.
After reviewing your case thoroughly, we have identified that the issue at hand pertains to the distribution of internet connectivity among your connected devices.
If the internet connection is successfully established on the head unit but the challenge persists on the connected devices, it is likely caused by hardware-related difficulties or misconfiguration of the head unit.
To resolve this matter, we kindly suggest contacting Mercedes Customer Support. Their knowledgeable team is well-equipped to diagnose and address hardware-related complications, as well as provide guidance on head unit configuration.
We thank you for your understanding.
If you require further information, please feel free to call us at +1 833 779 1024 (opening hours: Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:00 pm EST). Alternatively, you can reply to this e-mail, and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Kind regards,
Your HotSpot Drive Team
TLDR: Mercedes blames the internet provider and Deutche Telekom blames Mercedes! I don't have the patience and ideally just want my money back ($240).

Out of curiosity what’s the purpose of getting a hot spot activated in the car to browse the web? If the passenger could watch movies on the passenger display now that would be a different story. IMO the passenger display and hotspot are a waste.

My understanding is that it is a more reliable, faster connection than the hotspot on your phone. You can have laptops or say kids in the back connect their ipads and stream. In additon, I would say realtime online routing in Maps/traffic, better stream quality for music apps (spotify, etc.) would be better. However, I do see your point about not much use otherwise.
