Mercedes Me Connect Services

For those of you, like me, that might be confused by recent emails from MMC regarding expiration of services and tried to renew said services in the MMC store. As explanation, I took delivery of my EQS 450+ in December 2021 and renewed the services I wanted in December 2022. The referenced email pointed out a couple of services were going to expire 6/1 so I went to the store only to find that the only thing to buy was a "package" for $150. I called MMC and could not get a reasonable answer. So now, the following is a response I got from MBUSA.
"the concerns are in relation to the transition from store 1.0 – 2.0 where previously they were able to purchase features individually compared to the Store 2.0 those features are now offered in Mercedes me Connect Package bundle option for $150/year. If they buy the Mercedes me Connect bundle, they would receive an additional 12mo coverage for purchases made during store 1.0 period. Customer would not be charged twice for the services that are still active at this time.

The 12-month term for the MMC bundle would be active from the purchase date"
Hope this helps.

Got the same thing with renewal/purchase of services so now there will be overlap between the individual services purchased and the new bundle. Once MB gets its act together, it would be nice to have everything reset to one date for the ease of future purchases.

I prefer the original set up to the new “buy a whole bundle” set up but at this point what can one do? You either buy the bundle or you don’t…..

Just about every auto maker is moving to this model. It's just the way the market is going unfortunately.

Yeah, it's a bit funky with the potentially overlapping expiration dates, but the new package at $150 is cheaper than before if you renewed all the services individually. In my case I didn't renew Remote Start, because I didn't use it, but that still put me at $175 for everything else. With Remote Start it would have been $210. So when I renew in September 2023 I'll get everything for $60 less. The savings might be even larger for the EQ models as they have additional services around charging that cost extra before.

Yes, so correct. Once they moved from "store 1.0" to "store 2.0", ala carte pricing is (mostly) no longer available.

And AFAIK, the $150 is irrespective of the options on the car. For example, a 2019 A220 without navigation would be charged $150 - just as a 2022 A220 with navigation would also be charged $150.
