Coding and unrelated Tire Matter

Although I follow this board for some updates I usually do not post. However, I wanted to let all know of the possibility of getting your car remotely coded. Those who have owned BMW and Audi/VW products should be very familiar with the ability to code your vehicle to get additional features. This was something that has not been developed amongst Mercedes enthusiasts although the software is very similar to that used in other German vehicles. In fact, the software in most vehicles includes all the features, but some are turned off or not allowed because of certain countries regulations. Some features require additional hardware, some do not. Basically the vehicle is coded through an engineering mode the manufacturers use when they test vehicle features. These features can vary widely and sometimes include options that were available but not included in your build. This can be done remotely with a $20 cable from Amazon and a PC from anywhere in the world. I located someone who can code Mercedes vehicles. There is a fee involved and it is done through Team-viewer. I had some features successfully coded today. I do not do coding and I am just passing this along because it could be very useful in some circumstances. Also buyer beware as coding could effect your warranty to some extent, although as a lawyer I am aware that the "right to fix" is an evolving area with lots of unanswered questions.

Also as an FYI, my 2023 EQS 580 came with Pirelli P-Zero all season run flats. I generally am not a fan of run-flats and they could have a bigger impact on electric vehicles then gas powered vehicles. In any event I had a slight, but noticeable vibration in the steering wheel when accelerating hard and between 76-80 MPH. I had the tries rotated and balanced with 400 miles on the car to see if that made a difference and it did not. I installed the PZERO-4's non-runflats, non all season, that are made specifically for the EQS and EQE (MO-S designation on the tire) earlier this week. These just became available on Tire Rack. A least at this point has gone away. My inclination is that the vibration was caused by the run-flats s opposed to it being an issue with the tire as the tires were rotated and previous balanced. I have no idea on any impact on mileage, the tires are slightly louder, the ride doesn't fee much different, and the car brakes a little better -which is my major gripe with this vehicles.

If you want info on the coding let me know I can provide you the info. He was very helpful and very responsive.

BenzNinja is the master coder. He is active on other MB forums here, and sponsors some forums. I'm also curious what features could potentially be turned on/off. I am a subscriber of his service for my other car, but I'm sure he could do the EQS also.

I'd say for basic programming, some should check out RJ Automotive. His prices are quite good compared to BenzNinja's basic coding but BenzNinja does more custom coding if you need that. Definitely interested to hear what coding OP had performed and what was paid because it's good to have different options.

Has anyone in the US considered activating the Intelligent High Beam Plus ? I assume this is enabled in Europe and not in the US.

Interesting discover OP. Any more insight on this "Engineering mode"? Is it a lower level stuff than the "Engineering Menu" and "Dealer Menu" activatable with a set of button presses (don't know the exact sequence for the EQS though)

Does the Airmatic suspension adjustment include an easy way to raise the car, to avoid speed bumps, low driveway entrances, etc?
