Several months ago, there were several news reports (press releases) about Mercedes-Benz planning to build its own 'supercharging' stations (that would give priority to Mercedes EVs). Has anyone heard anything more about this? Does anyone know of any Mercedes-Benz-branded charging stations that are under construction anywhere?

I think everything is still under the planning stage.
Just a few weeks ago, there was a press release about someone appointed as the head or CEO of this operation.
But with the recent increasing adoption of NACS, I would guess things would be put on hold until Mercedes has made a decision to join or not.
Until MB comes out with some really low cost EV’s they will not sell enough volume to make a Mercedes charging system economically feasible. They are years behind the Tesla set up especially since so many EV companies are falling in line with Tesla.

Unfortunately their plan is the same as everybody else's plan: stand-alone stations with no attendants and no facilities. What we need are full service locations where someone can pay for charging with cash, buy a cup of coffee, beef jerky and who knows, maybe even buy a $120 Mercedes polo shirt, with CASH, like GAS. And when a charger breaks the attendant can call someone to get it fixed because I'm not going to. Their reservation idea isn't bad anyways but who's going to make the Chevy Bolt guy get out of my reserved spot? Nobody!
I wonder if MB is going to copy Audi's charging hub idea. They come with a lounge, vending machines, coffee etc. and have a reservation system. Bollards extend when you reserve a spot, so that nobody else pulls into it, and the information display in the lounge will let anybody know if they have to evict their charging spot due to an upcoming reservation. The lounge is also staffed during business hours, so if necessary the staff can instruct people to move their cars. Basically what others suggest above. The current charging stations are really kind of a joke. They don't even have a roof over them, so you don't get drenched if you have to charge in heavy rain. In Germany they are much farther ahead with charging parks that are more like full service gas stations. EAs approach of putting charging parks next to Walmarts is not gonna make me wanna own an EV. Just saying.
Make it simple MB. Install 2+ superchargers at every dealership. You get a nice place to sit, people can look at the new cars, good coffee and snacks for the most part....and the dealerships are in all cities. Seems brain dead and would cost about the price of 1.5-2 EQS cars
