Tire Recommendations

Looking for recommendations for replacement tire on our 22 EQS 580. The tires we are replacing are a set of OEM Bridgestone Turanza tires that have 6000 miles on them and registering 4/32 depth. Looking for some real world experience on some All Season tires.
Thanks in advance

Is the tire depth the same on all four tires?

Just keep in mind that if the all season tires you choose are not specifically made for EV’s they may make more noise and your mileage per KWh will go down also.

At least the wore evenly.

@Utopia Texas I’d like to find a good set of All Seasons that are EV friendly, I’ll probably end up with a set of Michelins..

Our car (EQS580) came with PIRELLI P ZERO ALL SEASON RUN FLAT., 265/40R21 105H XL, UTQG: Eco Focus: ELECT, Electric Vehicle Tuned. After about 11k, they seem great They are rated with 500 treadwear and AA for traction and temp. I would replace tires with the same.

from your picture, likes like you still have 2-3000 miles left. not yet wear to the indicator. you do use more inner tire. I would recommend visit a good alignment shop to adjust the camber to 0

I scheduled a wheel alignment for my EQS SUV in a couple of weeks. I was told by the MB dealer that there is no camber adjustment on the EQS chassis.

Unhappy

The 450+ that was loaned to me for 4 weeks was running on Goodyears and they rode sooooooooo smoothly….unlike the Bridgestones on my 580

This has been covered in other threads, so you could check those out, too. But, Continental DWS for me, as IMHO offer the best all around tire for those of us in the snow belt. You might lose a little mileage, but unless you are hypermiling, it does not matter a ton.

I hated the first generation Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics on my M550. However, the 5th generation Goodyear F1 Asymmetrics on my EQS 450+ have been fantastic. They have 20K miles on them, and still look brand new. They are smooth, quiet, and have good grip in wet and dry. I'm getting excellent mpkWh. I never thought I'd recommend them, but I do. BTW, they are 21 inch wheels.

I have the same tire on my car as well. Love it too.

Did you rotate them? I wanted them to be in good shape after 24k miles. (My lease ends at early 25 with 24k miles)

I really like the smooth quiet ride of the Goodyears on my 580 SUV but doubt I’ll get 20k miles out of the set.

I recently saw an EQS 450+ Sedan with 10K miles. The tires were in excellent condition even though they had never been rotated. I was surprised at how even the wear was across the set of four tires. In contrast the wear is markedly different from tire to tire on my SUV. I think the extra weight and the higher center of gravity increases tire wear significantly on the EQS SUV compared to the Sedan.

btw my 580 sedan switch from Goodyear 265/40/21 to Michelin PS4S EV 275/40/21. and surprisingly Michelin is slightly better in consumption even though it is wider.

Thanks for this info. Michelin PS4S would always be my first choice if I could be assurred that range would not suffer, so I appreciate this info for the future. Would love to hear from others who have used the PS4S about any adverse (or positive) impacts on range. Loved those tires on my M550, and have them on my wife's AMG GLE53.

Have you factored in the 1% speedometer/odometer error between the 265 and 275 tires into the mileage comparison?

in general, when tire is bigger, mpg gets worse. in my case, 275 is bigger and wider than 265, my consumption is better which is opposite. means PS4S EV is much more superior than Goodyear 265 summer tire.

edit: both Goodyear and Michelin are OE tire. PS4S EV 275 is EQS AMG OE.

Can you help me understand why the bigger tire should decrease mileage? It seems that the bigger tire would go further for the same number of motor revolutions (either EV or ICE).

Wait a minute.....Michelin PS4S EV? Where did you find these, didn't know they existed? Can't find them on Discount Tire or Tire Rack.

Addendum: I did find them on the Michelin web page( PS EV, not PS4S), but man, the reviews are dismal. Multiple complaints of vibration from foam separation from Tesla owners, which is surprizing to me. How many miles have you put on them so far? Any problems? I am very anxious to follow how they do for you, because Michelin is usually my absolute go to tire. Thanks.

I am sorry it is PS EV not PS4S EV. my mistake. but here is the picture. I ordered a set of AMG 21 inch rim with tire direct from Germany.
about a month having somewhere 500-700 miles and consumption is just a little better my oe 21 inch Goodyear summer tire 265/40/21. I do monitor my consumption everyday (what's wrong with me)
I do know about foam inside of Michelin and I do have one set currently install in my taycan. it does not have any problem ~10k miles. the one with foam call Acoustic Tech / Noise Reduction Technology. I am not sure this OE 275/40/21 PS EV has it or not.

edit: it has, just right below EV it has stamping of Acoustic

taller sidewall = heavier. anything below suspension is super effective to mpg/empg. the weight of brake, rim, tire, just a little bit 1LB can have huge impact.
that's why eqs with 20 inches rim has more range than 21 inches rim because rim is heavier.

I certainly love the way it looks. Probably the Merc dealer will have them if the AMG comes with them. I don't need them yet, will continue to watch the reviews about the foam separation, but that may be my next tire! Thanks.
