Charging at a Tesla charger

Has anybody yet charged at the Tesla Supercharger located at 1111 Eastchase Parkway iin Ft Worth/Arlington ? Or has anybody chawrged at a Tesla Supercharger that is 'Open to Non-Tesla' anywhere in the USA ?

I've been to the Eastchase Parkway on and saw no adapter nor second cable to fit a EQS or CCS compatible vehicle. But the Tesla 'charger site' for the USA shows this site as one that non-Tesla and CCS capable cars can charge at. Curious.

Tesla's site show several more Supercharges that non-Teslas can charge at vs a month ago. A lot in Colorado, some in Indiana. They seem to be following Interstate 80.

The Tesla chargers at 1111 Eastchase Parkway are equipped with Magic Dock connectors. From a distance, they look like normal Tesla Superchargers. If you look up the location in PlugShare you will find photos of non-Tesla EVs using the chargers. Once you use the Magic Dock superchargers you will understand why they are called Magic. When a Tesla owner removes the plug from the connector dock on the charger, they get the NACS plug that works with a Tesla. Non-Tesla owners first select the charger from the phone app. Then when they remove the plug from the dock, the CCS adapter magically appears. The CCS adapter cannot be removed from the NACS plug. But once the charging session has ended and the plug is returned to the dock, the charger will be ready to service either a NACS or CCS EV.

Ok. I was there a couple of weeks ago and looked at the chargers with a guy who was charging a Tesla and missed what I should have seen. I'll give it a shot again in a few days. It's a shame because I first read about this on the online mag Electrek and they showed photos of this config months ago.

I never go out to that side of town where this Tesla Supercharge is, but yesterday I saw where Tesla has set up about 7 more of this type site across the USA.

Thanks to both of you.

I was pleasantly surprised to see they now have Magic Dock chargers in Washington as well, they are on the east part of the state but that's where most gaps were anyway. I wonder if they are going to open as they keep upgrading existing sites.

Does anyone know if Tesla is able to retrofit existing Superchargers with Magic Dock? Or do they have to install an entirely new charger? While I prefer the Plug & Charge at EA, I could live with having to initiate the charging session through the Tesla app in order to avoid the poorly maintained EA chargers. One nice thing about Magic Dock is that it allows charging at the Tesla network without having to wait for the bureaucrats at MB to do a deal with Tesla. I also like the idea of not having to carry around an adapter for DC chargers.

Yes, it's a retrofit.

It sucks for EA and competition would have been nice but having a wide network of chargers is way more important. Just few days ago, on top of the 2 stations in Washington, they opened a 3rd one in Forks, WA to CSS cars where there were no other stations before. Interestingly they seem to have many upcoming stations in Target parking lots across the area, I am wondering if those are going to have magic dock as well. Some of them would be existing EA spots.

I might even keep my EQS if they retrofit the one in Corpus Christi, Texas

An aside; left the house to drive to Bellmeade, Tx to see how that site works. Halfway there .....ooops, forgot my wallet. Still had the RF card in the car, so I chanced it. RF worked fine. The location looks ok to me next to Walmart, Easy on/off either way.

Another aside: Went to Carmax to see what they'd give me for my EQS. Not enough. 53K with 24K miles on it. I'll keep it and hope for more Tesla retrofits. Car is nice.
