Finally!
I had been charging my 2022 EQS580 only at Electrify America chargers. Until now the nearest EA charger to my home was about 12 miles away. I looked at the EA app last night and to my pleasant surprise, there are four brand new EA chargers 2 miles from my home. There are also 6 new EA chargers near West Des Moines about 6-7 miles from home. I charged my car to 80% early this afternoon on the chargers 2 miles from home. This is SO awesome.

I have one close to me that I used to charge in weekly but now it is so busy, it is not worth it. Everyone who got free charging like us is charging there because it is free.
I feel bad for those travelling and actually needing the charger.

Also, the most frequent trip we take is from Des Moines to near Akron, OH and we don’t have a problem getting to enough EA chargers along the route on I-80. I charge it to 100% overnight prior to the trip.

I am in Seattle area, charger in our city has 3 stations and there is always 1-2 car waiting now each time I go there. I just started charging at home but the problem is same story happens in other chargers on I-5 as well. When I was on the road couple weeks ago on a Sunday, there were 3 EA stations on my route and none of them had free slots. It also doesn't help that it takes EA a week or two to fix a charger. One would think, in Seattle area they could respond to a charger being broken within 24 hours. It is unfortunate that EA is the best network out there for CCS charging but it is so far off from Tesla's network.
If Tesla really retrofits 3500 charging stations with Magic Dock (CCS) in the next 6 months, EA will be bankrupt with the service mentality they have.

There are now 14 EA chargers (3 charging stations) in the Des Moines area. I believe that is enough for this area for now. I also have a Charge Point wall charger in my garage.

Are you getting the Mercedes Me app to work seamlessly w/ EA? I still have not been able to take advantage of the free charging because my session will not activate from Mercedes Me, nor will my EA account recognize that I have a MB. I've got a loaner EQE right now, and have used the EA at Fareway three times...so nice to have in town.

If there is no one waiting at the charger you can charge to 90 for an additional 10 minutes or less. The car will charge at 50 kw till about 92%. Thats an additional 40 miles or so of range. If you are going on a long trip thats 10% less worry😉 Another plus of a "flat charging curve"

Are you getting the Mercedes Me app to work seamlessly w/ EA? I still have not been able to take advantage of the free charging because my session will not activate from Mercedes Me, nor will my EA account recognize that I have a MB. On the new chargers just installed in my "hood" no. Ive been using the EA app and getting charged, despite using the MB app to route me to the charger. The plug and charge feature has only worked once in the Chicago suburbs. On charge point chargers the RF tag works consistently.

I’m happy to report that thanks to this OTA, I charged my EQS580 this afternoon with zero issues at the new EA charging station. Plug and charge worked perfectly. The previous couple times at this station, I had to call EA for them to authorize the charging.
