I have no idea where this feature is it simply pops up automatically in some places like my kids school or shopping centers.I have looked in the menus multiple times to no avail.

AI. The EQS learns your patterns and those icons pop up based upon your previous actions. I am not kidding either.

So hopefully OP is able to set it to always display there but the question is, where is that setting?

That's the point there isn't one! The car decides where. For me, it's shopping centers and where I've opened the trunk before. Today for the first time it showed up in my garage. I guess it hadn't done it before because the geolocation is blocked by the garage.

I wonder if it is a setting in the Mercedes Me app under vehicle settings? Hopefully someone else chimes in.

I am speculating but if you put it in park and the sensor in the back is clear from obstruction, it should appear. I use the button on the driver door; I can control how much it opens too.
