That's good news to potential buyers considering a Mercedes car. Not so much so for current owners because I doubt Mercedes would be able to install next generation Car Play on MBUX 2.0.

I don't trust Apple corp so for me that eliminates MB from future consideration. No doubt iPad/iOS has the best touch interface though. Pity nobody else can do a tablet right.

I agree with you they have the best touch interface, but few people know that they bought Ipad patent from Fujitsu (google it)... also now Apple has trouble with watch patents. But consumers don't care. Apple sells more watches than all of the Swiss watch companies combined.
It's a company which invented nothing but earned all the money because they get all your private information.

With Apple basically you have no privacy and they will lower your speed after some years.
I agree with you they have the best touch interface, but few people know that they bought Ipad patent from Fujitsu (google it)... also now Apple has trouble with watch patents. But consumers don't care. Apple sells more watches than all of the Swiss watch companies combined.

Your choices will be very limited since the great majority of high end vehicles are going with Apple. That should tell you something. Good luck with Tesla crap or GM.

Everyone else knows Apple is the best when it comes to privacy. As for the patent stuff - not my patent, not my problem. Patents are not about right and wrong any more - they are about money. There are large companies whose entire business model is patent lawsuits. As a shareholder, I trust Apple to manage those in a way that is ROI optimal.

I will not buy a car from any company that doesn’t support Apple integration. Made that mistake with my Rivian and while we put up with it for now because Rivian has no real competition, we would not do it again.

Why would it eliminate MB from your consideration? You don't have to use CarPlay. Why would CarPlay on all the screens as an option bother you more than CarPlay on one screen as an option?
