Lucid in the dumps
The Lucid quarterly report yesterday was horrible. Their sales were way behind expectations. Their stock price right now is $1.24. If it were not for the Saudis with very deep pockets, Lucid would be filing for bankruptcy. They may do it anyway.

Could get much worse IMHO. They're cutting prices of brand new houses around here. I'm considering buying another as an investment (and place to store more cars) but I dunno...

I was an early excited deposit holder on a Lucid years ago but after a year and a half of depressing posts on the Lucid owners forums decided to drop out two days before production of my unit. Glad I did and have enjoyed a problem free MB EQS 580 SUV now for 15 months. Month after month of Lucid delays and the “we won’t make the mistakes Tesla did “ on a 140k car became laughable….

I’m so sorry. You’re right. I mistakenly viewed Lucid Disgnodtics, Inc. Lucid Group stands at $3.00 right now. As you mentioned, Lucid is in huge trouble.

74% of the outstanding shares are owned by institutions according to Yahoo. If it was just us little investors getting burned they'd just let it go under but I'd say there's a good chance the Saudis buy them out.

Anything about the future is speculation. So, I am speculating that Saudi will buy them out and start their own EV company. If the world doesn't want their black gold, then they can produce plenty of solar and battery for storage of energy. It looks like EV going across desert land where solar energy is storage in sodium ion battery station might be something to explore.

They are building a factory in Jeddah so I think the Saudi’s are pretty committed to this.
I don’t see Rivian at risk. They had 2 cars in the top 10 on EV sales, and their high volume mid size SUV launching soon. I think given they were smart to focus on SUVs and a pickup truck, they will survive. Even if they go under due to debt obligations I would imagine there would be a buyout or a reboot as debt becomes equity.

If Bezos bought Rivian we could order them on Amazon. Heck, I think I like that name better for an off-road vehicle anyways... like the Amazon Trekker 4x4

They will go private and survive for the foreseeable future. They just added another huge expansion to their AZ facility. They’ve had some bad marketing because overall I think it’s the best luxury driving EV on the market.
