EQS Sedan Update Coming (More Range, Classic Grille Option coming soon)
Highlights:
- The EQS sedan will feature an improved battery for more range (probably the new 118 kWh pack with new chemistry that the 2024 EQS SUV is getting). It should offer 31 more miles of range.
- The new EQS sedan will offer a classic Mercedes grille design. Buyers can choose either the new 3-pointed star embedded into the futuristic looking grille or a design closer to the classic emblem mounted on the hood
- The new EQS sedan launches June 2024.
- CEO Ola Kallenius stressed on the call that the EV market is not cooling as some are insisting. Mercedes is still pushing ahead and investing on a high level. "As an incumbent, you need a double hedge" was the reason cited for the dialed back target (in regards to the recent messaging from Mercedes that gas cars will live well into the 2030s)
