On the EQS 580 sedan the socket cap is attached to a string that always hits the paint on the body of the car when removed. Is there a holder for it? Can the string be detached so you can put it in your pocket when charging? Makes no sense to scratch your car when removing it and letting it hit the paint on the car.

The DC terminal cap is soft rubber and should not damage your paint. Of greater concern to me is having to plunge the charging door to open it (when I forget to open it via the Mbux display) which over time will affect the paint on that access door.
