First step to take when one of the electronic doodads has a hiccup!
A lot of angst is vented on the site about what to do when one of the numerous electrical and software goodies goes on the fritz after and update or seemingly out of the blue.
The first thing......Don't PANIC! As one of the first owners of a 580 I have been through most of them (probably all). I have never had to take my car in for a fault EVER. If you have something to do, go and do it. The car is always driveable since the drivetrain system is independent from MBUX. If you have time, get out of the car, lock it, and walk away. Wait 30 min or so. Unlock it and drive away! If that system "reboot" did not work, lock it when you get home and leave it overnight. It seems to work itself out overnight essentially every time.
