Fun note: this is for the EV owners in Tampa. Yes, you can purchase gasoline today (and could for most of the entire storm)...but...

We appreciate your patience as we work 24/7 to recover from Milton. With the help of 6,000 utility workers, we expect to restore power to essentially all customers in the coming days. Estimated restoration by county:
  • Pasco customers - Monday, 10/14
  • Polk customers - Tuesday, 10/15
  • Hillsborough and Pinellas customers - Thursday, 10/17

Then, when power is on there will be DAYS LONG lines at the chargers, as there always are after the storms. Good thing that something like 98% of the EV owners have them as their third car. My next door neighbor had a Rivian for about a minute or two...behind his massive diesel Dodge truck, an Escalade, an X5 and their kids Jeep....sitting next to their RV and 32' fishing boat....you know, environmentalists :-)
It’s not politics when you’re blaming the Biden administration for almost everything?

I assume the most Floridians are disappointed that DeSantis's signing a bill that eliminated references to climate change from state energy policy didn't result in elimination of weather related malfunction of their power grid. I guess their next best bet will be for Trump to win and he can put MTG in charge of the climate and she can order the meteorologists to direct the hurricanes to states that didn't vote for Trump like Colorado for example.

Hurricanes are unpredictable, and hard to prepare for. Having lived through two, I now live in San Antonio, where my Gererac will keep my power on as long as natural gas service is available. Sorry you are going through this, but I am struggling to understand how this relates to a thread about a guy dissatisfied with his EQS.

Wait wait wait!!

Are you all saying a president said he'd do something and then didn't?
This is truly a first in American history is it not??

I'm completely flummoxed and in awe!

I never mentioned the name biden. That was somebody else. As for somebody having their own charger at home that is absolutely within their right. I as a business owner should not be told that I have to install one on my property. As for the Lemmings who buy into the delusion that EVS are friendlier to the environment... they simply never ever let facts get in the way as their contentions have been rebuked time and again.

As business owners we are required to do all sorts of things. if you were wondering where these EV charging stations that have been proposed would be...thats your answer. The Government should make installing that charger worth your while though.

I will tell you that in the long term you will be well served by putting that charger in. Availability of EV chargers will play a bigger and bigger role in the value of real estate and the success of a retail business. Its going to be kind of like not having WiFi...

Thats about the most attractive picture of an EQS I have seen, but we'll agree to disagree lol. Styling is in the eye of the beholder though.

You said Joe! Is that Joe Palucka? You are SO anti science that it makes me sick to my stomach. As far as inflation goes, you conveniently ignore the fact that there was a major pandemic and the supply chain was critically interrupted when Biden became president and he had to clean up the crap that your boy left him. Inflation has come down tremendously since close to 4 years ago. And what ever happened to the greatest depression in our history predicted by your boy at that time? Instead, we have a booming stock market and tremendous employment.

This will likely be deleted by the moderators but so be it.

The polar regions (especially the Arctic) have been warming very rapidly especially in the last 30-40 years. This is very scary as the sea levels are rising quite fast. The Earth as a whole has been warming significantly and unless there is immediate action by major industrial nations to cut down on fossil fuels we will be in real bad shape. We probably already reached the point of no return but we can stabilize it here if action is taken now.
I can also tell you that one area in which the summers (mostly daytime highs) have not warmed much of any is the U.S. Midwest. The reason for this is because of the millions and millions of acres of a sea of green. Corn and soybeans transpire tons of water vapor into the atmosphere. That’s a cooling effect and counteracts the warming gases spewed into the atmosphere. However, this also increases the dew points and thus feels quite uncomfortable. There are quite a few days when the dew points in Des Moines for example, are higher than they are in Houston in the summer.
The winters on the other hand have gotten a lot warmer over the past 50 years in the Midwest.

The fact is, the Rona affected Trump’s economy far more than Biden’s. Even Still inflation when Biden took office was less than 2%. Biden’s policies of centralized planning, including EV mandates, necessarily was extremely inefficient, and along with his spending and monetary policies, lit a fire under inflation. So now, we can’t afford charging stations, heck, almost every sector of the economy has become 30% more expensive. Wages have not kept up, so there is a big squeeze. It’s just a verifiable fact, that central planning for the economy, is wildly inefficient, and inflationary. What is the most efficient framework for a national economy? Ask Milton Freedman, Ask Thomas Sowell.
They would(and have) tell you about the invisible hand, that sets prices according to marginal costs, that distributes goods and services most evenly across demand.
Most of the initial supply chain disruptions were because of the insane vax mandates for truckers, and enforcement out of all sensibility to commerce.
I have to agree with OM&HC. Not only that, as a business owner, he is on the front line being mugged every day, much like business owners were selectively mugged by French laundry patrons without masks, and hairdressers closed for all but Speakers of the house, not to mention mayors of Chicago. There has been no reckoning, kind of like so many other movements that are delayed interminably, until cold hard facts and harsh reality obscures the utopia.
I hope this doesn’t get deleted. Whoever wrote it, it’s a masterpiece.

Oh, and we can thank Joe for the massive inflation causing us all to tighten our belts when it comes to spending. I know the folks who were going to install new gutters on one of our main offices can blame Biden directly for the fact we put that project off indefinitely.
Wait, the city wants you to put in chargers, but you don't want to. Any you say Biden is blocking the chargers?

Also, only one brand of EV has sentry mode and that is not for all their cars.

Perhaps you should check on your facts before making all sorts of assertions. Might help you make better business decisions too.

That is undoubtedly the most heinous car in the MB line up. Of course that's subjective and I'm just 'trolling' because that is how folks are labeled these days for entering a forum chat of a car 'they don't own' boohoohoo LMAO!

I dunno about heinous but it's the slowest selling in MB's lineup for sure and #2 slowest selling of ALL CARS: https://www.iseecars.com/fastest-sel...study#v=202403

I was kind of surprised my EQE SUV didn't make their list. The EQE sedan and EQS SUV did though.

Anywho, we're gonna keep dropping 2000 pound bombs on refugee camps so I'm not going to waste my time trying to stop the globe from warming.

Insurers and the reinsurers in Europe don't care about garnering clicks either denying a warming planet. Misinformation and being willfully ignorant runs into the actuaries at these insurers who price risk. They've looked at the risk, and are increasingly saying 'no thanks' or 'sure but pay a LOT more' to write policies on areas of the US most impacted by climate change. Money running into the cold hard facts of science (or even a temperature chart like above)--money wins every time. So you all who (somehow) still don't believe your lying eyes, go ahead and buy that condo on the beach in Miami. Put your money where you mouth is.

I mean this is the issue with stereotypes of all sorts. Political coalitions have different strands. But the point is that the red leaning voters have recently tended to be against EVs and EV charging infrastructure. And TBH it is consistent with their general stance against freedom. They want to turn america into a non-free country where everyone follows either the bible or donald trump whichever is more convenient for them at the time. But if someone wants to drive an EV, or wear a mask, then lock them up or deport them.

Yeah, the freedom to pay taxes. And the freedom to buy mandated insurance. And the freedom to fly to Epstein's Island and hang out with child molesting Mossad agents like Bill Clinton. Free speech, especially antisemitic speech, is a hate crime though. And guns are straight up a privilege, not a right like having an abortion. We have to debunk and censor misinformation that claims otherwise.

Democrats make me want to sell my EV and buy an ICE vehicle too but I refuse to stoop to their childish level.
