I have looked at some tempting lemon cars. From what I read, you are spot on that these are fixed with documentation to prove. Why I didn't buy one is because I could not get an extended warranty on a lemon car, and I thought it would be difficult to resell later. If one is confident in the car to not be problematic post warranty and wants to keep it a long time, I think it would be a great way to buy it.
Many mechanics know how to fix ICE cars but they have no idea on how to fix EQ cars.
What's the trade-in values for a lemon EQS now?

I don’t know but trade in on non-lemon EQS vehicles as nothing. I’m leasing but was curious about the pricing. My wife’s 2023 EQS580 with a MSRP > 141k is 44k with less than 5k miles and the car is as new. The lease residual is 108 and my payment is, IMHO, very low.

That's the thing with a lemon...trading it or selling it will be very difficult. A dealer would give you a terrible number, and it would take a special situation buyer to buy it privately. IMHO, the only route is to plan to use it for a very long time. If that is the case, a lemon could be an attractive proposition.

I know this first hand since we went through this with our first EQS 450+ that was part of the recall. Vehicle spent 60 days in the shop with SW issues (every driver aid and safety system going offline randomly) and by law in California the manufacturer is on the hook after 30 days non contiguous out of service. Went through the same thing with the Lyriq we bought as a replacement for the first EQS. Bought back by Cadillac after six dealer visits trying to clear a traction control issue. I can say for certain that Mercedes, BMW and Cadillac all buy back cars and do not allow them to get branded titles.
