Insurance EQS - Please help

My EQS is currently insured with GEICO, but they don’t offer GAP insurance, which is essential for me. As a result, I’m exploring other insurance providers. My current rate with GEICO is $1,600 for six months (Florida). I obtained online quotes from Progressive and Travelers, both of which include GAP insurance. Travelers’ quote was $200 less than GEICO’s, while Progressive offered the best rate at $920 for six months—$600 cheaper than GEICO. I ensured that coverage amounts and deductibles were as comparable as possible across all quotes. GEICO charges $1,066 for comprehensive (excluding collision) and $488 for collision, both with a $1,000 deductible. By comparison, Progressive offers significantly lower rates: $125 for comprehensive and $273 for collision, both with a $500 deductible. These differences leave me a bit puzzled—can these numbers really be accurate? I’d appreciate hearing about your experiences. GAP insurance is particularly crucial for me because my EQS lost 30% of its value within just one day of purchase.
I’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback!

Allstate has a nice feature you can purchase for a minimal amount of extra premium that makes your totaled car payout one year newer and 20,000 less miles. It gets you much closer to being able to replace the vehicle without much financial damage. Allstate is best for me, but there are so many variables involved it's tough to say what is best for you.

I checked Allstate. That is the most expensive insurance.

$1,320 every six months for a 2023 EQS 580 SUV in Arizona, $500 deductible and 15k miles a year. 70 years old, multi-car discount, no speeding tickets since 1983 (at least in the states) and no accidents since high school.

Yah, the car by itself is $2150 per year w/ a $500 deductible, but the homeowners insurance was way less than State Farm where I'd been for decades. Everyone has to consider all the pieces of the package which vary greatly person to person. If I shopped around, I could likely find a package for less, but I'm satisfied with the coverage and agent.

*** I Just noticed Florida isn't covered by ERIE ***

I'd definitely recommend checking out ERIE. They're a fantastic insurer, but they can be a bit picky when it comes to driving history. To give you an idea, they wouldn't insure me until a glass claim from four years ago finally dropped off my record!

This particular quote is for a year of coverage on one vehicle, with two adult drivers listed. Oh, and it includes a discount since I opted to pay the whole premium upfront. The Rate-Lock was one of the most attractive features, especially where I live, as the rates can vary drastically from policy period to policy period, even within the same insurer. Multiple times in the last few years, my rates have nearly doubled without any changes on my end, so it's a great option.

Policy Period:
12:01 A.M. Standard Time
05/09/2024 until 05/09/2025

Total Policy Premium $1,177.00

  • Rate Lock: Your rate is locked in and won't increase even if you have an accident, get speeding tickets, or inflation rises. The only changes that will affect your premium are adding/removing a driver or car, or changing your address. (This is an optional feature, not automatically included in every policy.)
  • Diminishing Deductible: With Erie Auto Plus, your collision deductible decreases by $100 each year you're claim-free, down to $100, and your comprehensive deductible lowers to $50.
  • Discounts: Erie has a wide range of discounts, including:
    • Safe driving
    • Car safety features (alarm, lock system, airbags)
    • Multi-car
    • Multi-policy (bundle home, auto, umbrella, life)
    • Reduced usage (under 12,000 miles/year)
    • Young drivers
    • Pay-in-full
  • First Accident Forgiveness: Available with Erie Auto Plus, this waives the surcharge for your first at-fault accident (after three years claim-free, or immediately for New York drivers with Rate Protect).
  • Pet Injury Coverage: Erie includes coverage for pet injuries sustained in a car accident as part of their full coverage policies (up to $500).
  • Enhanced Roadside Assistance: Erie Auto Plus increases your roadside assistance reimbursement from $75 to $125.
  • Death Benefit: Erie Auto Plus provides a $10,000 death benefit if you die in or because of a car accident.
  • Hit-and-Run Deductible Cap: If your legally parked car is damaged in a hit-and-run, Erie caps your deductible at $100.
Important:
  • Erie Insurance is only available in certain states.
  • Some of the benefits listed, like Rate Lock and the enhanced features of Erie Auto Plus, are optional and may not be included in every policy.

Erie Insurance is licensed in Washington, DC, and twelve US states.

EQS insurance

I belief Amica insures in Florida. Have had USAA for years & they want $4,500 to insure my 2022. No accidents or claims in usual 5 years. They (Amica)want $2050 for a year with identical coverage. Sad to leave current policyholder, but differential is too significant. Also got several other quotes & Amica was the best. However, quote reflects insurance bundle on other car & homeowner which was also less.

23' EQS AMG
My current cost for the 23" AMG EQS is $1774 (6 months) with Geico in Texas with a 50K/100K and $1K deductible. I remember that it was cheaper before I added my daughter (under 21) to the policy. I will check with Progressive and might go back to them.
