Hi all. I have a 2022 450+ sedan and I'm thinking of trading it in for a 2024 model. Does anyone know if there are major differences between the two models? For example, is parktronic more robust? Or the driver assist features? Or the sound system? I'm wondering if I should wait until the 2025 model comes out, but there are good deals on the 2024's. I lease and am terminating my lease early to get the good deals and I'm wondering if it's worth it. Thanks.

 

What I think I know is that the 2024's have the hyperscreen and heat pumps and improved braking software..

 

Any reason why something like software for improved braking would not be available for previous MY cars through an update?

 

Once the EV tax credit is revoked the lease deals won't be quite as good.

 

The improved braking where they actually made changes to the braking system is for 2025. The improved braking software is for all EQS's.

2025 Brings:
a bigger battery (More Range),
a REAL heat pump (Not the fake residual heat pump they put in the 2024),
better rear seat comfort (More amenities similar to S-Class),
New Front facia styling
Powered charging door (No one cares but I did lol)
Soft closing doors for North America (I hope)

 

The rear seat improvements are already available for 2024 and will remain simply available for '25, and the power charge door is on '24s. Curious to hear about the real heat pump.

Yeah when I read that before I didn't pick up the fact that it is not generating heat by compression.

 

@Tjdehya What is the source for your claim here? Getting input that in fact the 2024 heat pump is a proper heat pump. Do you have info that says otherwise?

That's like me putting bowl of ice in front of a fan and telling you I turned on the AC. Yes there will be cooler air blowing but it is not what we all would know as an Air conditioner.

A real heat pump utilizes a Refrigeration Cycle, not just heat from somewhere else being pumped into the cabin.
If you want further proof that the 2024 does not have a hear pump... take note of the 2025 that announces that they NOW have a hear pump. That's MB snitching on themself.

When you first raised this point and I read the article, I bought into that interpretation. When I reiterated this in another post I received input that caused me to question that interpretation. My interpretation now is that it is saying is that the compression cycle heat pump is using wasted heat as input rather than using ambient (presumably colder) temperature.
