Finally decided to unlock all the digital extras for 1 year $150
So far so good but disappointed that it’s not the “Full Digital Light” like Europe. All we have is auto high beam and welcome/farewell…. Anyways, with welcome light, what’s the personal option? Is there a place to download them? Where can I find more info about them.
Not sure if it works with '23 EQS, but here is how I did it with my 24' EQS. Go in the Mercedes App. Tap on the 4 squares of the bottom menu. Then look for the Light Settings tile. Tap on Digital Light. Then click on customize next to Custom Scene. There are a lot of different patterns you can choose. Then click Save and it should sync to the car. Sometimes the car didn't switch to using the custom scene. I'm not in the front car, but if you go to the Settings in MBUX and look for the digital light setting, you can choose the user defined welcome light and then the car for sure will use the custom scene which you have set in the app. Works great!
I just spoke to MB customer service. They are discontinuing the Personalization service in the app. That really sucks because I can no longer change my pics on the passenger display. If you still have these features (Germany), that's great. But for the US, it is being discontinued . . . at least for my 23' EQS.

Confirmed. US app do not have the customization. All Personalization have been discontinued in the US (at least for MY 23').

That's strange. I'm in the US. But mine is a MY 24. I can still customize the digital light pattern like I showed or change the passenger display on the Hyperscreen to a personal image. I'd also make sure that you have the latest Mercedes App. I'm on iOS.

I paid the obligatory $150 for all Digital Extras on our MY23 EQS but found on the Mercedes Me app that "Personalization" still requires a Purchase. And when I clicked to purchase, it took me back to the same MM app page with all 33 Digital Extras, and says I have "purchased all included Digital Extras", which added up to 26 of 33 due to installed hardware preventing the rest 7 features (Comfort data volume, Remote Engine Start, TETRIS, Shared Nav, In-car App Pass, Audio Streaming & Nav for trailers & o/s vehicles). Nothing about hardware limitation to personalization, so why is this feature not included nor can be purchased? On the road I hear an audible warning for "potholes" but no image is projected on the road. So maybe projections and personalization are disabled in the MY23?

This is all I have via the app, and I have ever seen for my 3 months of ownershp (of a 2023 EQS SUV). The custom image on the passenger screen option is still showing in the app, too (under "Customize your vehicle display"). The Mercedes app version on my iPhone is 3.58.0 (2865), and the last two OTA updates to hit my car were 2.4 and the wireless charging system update (in other words, I do not have 2.6.1, yet).

Well, when I bought my car, I was under the impression from the salesman that MB was going to allow a true customer supplied image in the future. The current feature is just selecting among a few MB supplied images, not really customization at all.

If this is Sound Drive, I personally don't think you are missing much.

I can confirm that the ability to set a custom photo for the passenger display is fully functional on my 2024 EQS 580.
I was just experimenting with it yesterday. The process of setting the image via the Mercedes me app and having it sync to the car is working as intended.
Your comment, "The ability to sync anything with my car is gone," is the interesting part. It makes me wonder if this isn't a model-year specific software difference, but rather a change on the Mercedes me connect server-side that has affected the sync functionality for the 2023 and earlier models. It's possible that as they've updated the backend services, they have inadvertently deprecated or broken the sync function for the older vehicles.
It will be interesting to see if other 2023 and earlier owners can confirm they are also unable to sync a new passenger display image. It could point to a broader server-side problem.

As much as I would love to say "you are right, I am not missing out on being able to make custom music while I sit in DC traffic," I get frustrated when Sound Drive was detailed out on the actual update 2.6.2 and no where to be found. I want to be able to be you and say "you're not missing out on much." ha
The lack of personal digital light selection is annoying though. I was looking forward to the Halloween selections for my kids.

What really sucks with the Personalization service discontinuation is they also discontinued the ability to select the user-defined image even in the vehicle. I wondered if I reset my profile... the option is still there, but it only registers that I am tapping it, not opening the menu to select a new image.
The Digital Extra folks said they are working on a New Personalization for the USA. I am willing to bet the headlamp images were an issue with the DOT. Next they will dampen the on-road warnings more than they already are in the US. I've seen the Dots to a pedestrian on the road and an arrow pointing me back into my lane if I have someone in my blind spot with my blinker on.
I wonder if there is a way to spoof it... Say VPN login or using WiFi with a VPN to Germany? I doubt it, but there's been simpler workarounds.
