Windshield wiper replacement options?

Are there any actual 3rd party windshield wiper replacement options available for the 450+ sedan?

I’ve only seen a handful of forums. Some claimed there was nothing, one said a Bosch model that is only available in the EU.

It sounds like regular rain X or Michelin won’t fit the attachment?

I was never able to find any, and just ordered mine off the web to save time and money. Be aware that the part description is not really clear, but it's a "kit" of both front blades.
Part number: 296-820-15-00

I did manage to find this:
https://www.boschautoparts.com/g/wip...eTypeGroupId=2

Which led me to this eBay listing. The picture appears to show the correct connector for EQS wipers (no "adapter" necessary). Take a chance and let us know. My understanding is that the front wipers for the EQS, EQE, Sedan and SUV, are the same. I see no reason why the "EQS 53 AMG" wiper (as listed by the seller) would actually be any different from your EQS 450+ Sedan.

This recently introduced wiper attachment system (it's on my '19 G550, while '18 and older were J-hooks, I think) is patented (US 10,081,338 for those interested). Aftermarket wiper makers such as Michelin, Bosch, RainX, etc. need to negotiate a license with Daimler to make a compatible adapter, and need to decide there's a large enough market to justify the license cost and the tooling costs. AFAIK, nobody is yet providing a compatible aftermarket wiper blade -- not even MB's OEM supplier (could be Bosch or Valeo).
A couple years ago, I looked into aftermarket brands, and found that some (RainX Endura and Bosch Envision) were similar enough to adapt to the MB mechanism by cannibalizing a set of MB blades, and making a small modification to the aftermarket wiper blade. See https://mbworld.org/forums/g-class-w...ld-wipers.html for more details. However, the result was a wiper blade with a big plastic adapter knuckle sitting on my windshield instead of the small barely noticeable OE attachment.

The rear wiper on my G550 does not use this patented attachment mechanism, and several aftermarket brands fit.

Bosch is showing what looks to be the right connector on their web site (yeah - it's the internet, you can't trust it, but someone went through the trouble to create that content)

Wiper blade packaging is really annoying with the way that it conceals the blade. I guess you're supposed to believe the cross reference lookup.
Drive to an auto store, remove one of your wiper blades, walk in and ask a sales person for a replacement. They will open a Bosch blade package and you can find out if it will fit.

As this one is the Bosch special "OE" version, and very low volume, I imagine they won't have it in stock. You'll end up with the ICON options that have the clunky adapter.

In the the meantime, you could order a set from a source that has a return policy, like I did.
