OTA update hang-up

Got a notice from the app that OTA update was available and would need to start the process in the car.
I went to the setting in the car and saw the message that update was available, but that was it.
The car has been at this stage for the past 4 days.
There was no button to click to start the process.
Anyone seen this?
TIA.

It might take a while especially depending on the reception, try using wifi, it might be quicker.

Yes, the car is connected to my home wifi also.
Also got the message twice in last 2 days to the effect that the battery was low for update with SOC 60% or more.
Maybe something wrong with the car.
Thanks.

Hmmm a low 12V battery does affect the update yes.

A sufficiently charged 12V battery was indeed one of the prerequisites for the update.

OTA updates are usually rolled out in groups or a selection of VIN’s to avoid overloading the servers pushing the updates. It used to happen to Tesla in their early days, that a message was sent to every car and app that an update is available, when in actuality you’re like one thousandth in line and won’t get it for another week at minimum. Just a thought, it could be that..

I had the same issue. A tried driving the car for an hour and then charging HV battery overnight. neither solved the problem. I brought it in to MB and it turns out my 12v battery was starting to fail. They replaced it under warrantee.

I had similar issues as well. I was having problems keeping my 12v battery charged and got the message update would occur when all requirements were met. My 12v was partially charged at the time. I was finally able to get it to fully charged and then update was ready to install.

For me, I couldn't get better than "Partially Charged"and that's why I needed a new 12v battery

I’m on my second 12v battery because of similar issues. The current battery has always read as good battery health so I would expect it should charge up fully.

What was the cause of premature 12V battery failure?

In my case the battery failed around 12 months after I got the car. I ordered the vehicle and it was the first 2023 EQS my dealer received. It was delivered to the Baltimore VPC in July. Mercedes held the car at the VPC till December to clear out the 2022 models before they would deliver my car. Sitting for 5.5 months at the VPC couldn’t have been good for the battery. Otherwise I have no explanation for why my battery went bad.

I, too, am on the 2nd 12v battery. My dealer replaced it because they diagnosed it when I took it in for the passenger pinging headrest. I wasn't even aware that it was defective. Now, I can check the health of the 12v in the mobile app (before not possible). I wonder if later on, I can use a lithium ion or maybe a LIfePo4 battery instead of the lead acid (assuming the 12v is still a lead acid).

I assume this a new feature after the update, right?

Hmm, I could not find that in my app at all.
Could you please show me how to get to that screen?
I have a 2022 car. Maybe this year preceded that feature?
Thanks so much for your help.

When I first got my 23 EQS 580 sedan the state of health of the 12 v battery was not available in the app, only the state of charge. With an update to the Mercedes app the state of health was added to the state of charge. When my original 12 v battery failed I could not tell it was failing because state of health was not available.

When you open the Mercedes app, hit the 4 squares button on the bottom. Then open up the service icon. Press on the state of health and state of charge and that will appear

When you click on the state of health function in the app it says that the function only works for genuine Mercedes batteries.

EQS 580 SUV
I have a 2023 EQS 580 SUV, and the latest update is still not installing even after replacing the battery. The app shows the battery as fully charged and in good health. I did receive my last OTA update in May 2024, but since then, all updates up to version 2.6.1 have been performed at the dealership. The update appears both in the app and in the car, but the ‘Continue’ button is always grayed out. Mercedes support has been, at best, unhelpful, and since my car is now out of warranty, my SA told me that updates are provided directly by MB USA and that he can no longer update my car free of charge.
