Alright, who's sl55 did I get to play with on Saturday night?
My boyfriend and I were on our way up to Dana Point from Del Mar on Saturday night around 9:30-10pm when a newish silver sl55 came up on us. My boyfriend was driving since I had already had a few drinks. We played around for a little bit and finally got a good run in through a medium thickness of traffic. All I know is that we hit 140-something or other. We lost the guy at one point and slowed down about a min later to about 70. A couple minutes later he caught up and gave us the thumbs up. We just cruised together until we got off at Beach Cities. Looked like a young guy to me. Anyone on here?

The SL was probably being mellow. I am not sure about everyone else but 140+ mph in medium thick traffic in California is scary, especially at night. You just never know when someone is going to change lanes.

Obviously we never got a chance to run in a straight line or he would have slaughtered me. He just got caught in traffic. The thing sounded amazing.

i would hazzard to guess like most people with high powered cars they dont have the slightest idea on how to drive them. i can remember being 18 and carving up a bmw on the i-5 strech down to saddleback college in a vw bg.
i bet you are right about the straight line comment. i bet the guy cant drive unless its a straight line. splitting traffic is an art. appearently your b/f can split traffic well. cool for him.
we definately need to get an autocross meet together so peeps can show their stuff in an even playing field.

The Toyo RA1's helped too. :p But in the m-modified class (all modded m-cars) you have to run r-comps to be competitive.
i would also love to see my buddies old e30 m go against an e36 m. his old e30 drove like a slot car. his e36 he bought was nothing like the original. in fact i think the rear end on his e36 washed out on him 2x.

I would love to see a red one up close!
If I got a R171 in the US, I'd either get Red w/ Tan interior or White w/ Red interior...elsewhere I'd have to get Sunburst/Yellowstone...

yikes...i cant stand 2 seaters and convertibles are for peeps that were born or have lived elsewhere and moved to cali. 99% of natural born californians don't have convertibles. there is that small 1% that does buy them tho.
the reason i cant stand convertibles is because i am 6 foot tall and cant ever see out the front window. if the top is lowered i have to scrunch down so my head doesnt bang on the roof. i have yet to find a convertible that i can fit in comfortably.
as far as slk 55's i know of 3 of them. lisa, tony, and mr. wolf.
