Wow, just found out my that I won't be going out of town this weekend. Looks like I will be up for the trip. Did not pre register so I won't get a T-shirt. Reading the rules do you have top have long pants and long sleeve shirt? I don't have a helmet either (will someone rent or loan me one? (I washed my hair last Sunday and my lice are under control )). Is there anything specific I need to know or bring?

Helmet should be no problem, but last I heard, Silver Dollar rents them as well. I am planning on meeting at 8am at The Varisty (downtown) for the caravan down.

If you have FRS radios (walkie-talkies), bring one or two as there is usually some funny chat exchanged on the way down.

One other thing: TURN OFF your A/C when you get to the track!
(lol...ask me how I know)

You definitely need long pants. I can't remember whether they ever enforce the "long sleeves" rule. But I figure it's going to be cool, so I'll probably wear long pants and at least have a jacket or something with me anyway. If you dress lighter, bring along some sweatpants and an extra shirt. I'm sure one or two people (including me) would be willing to loan you a helmet.

I usually try to bring a towel to wipe the numbers off my windows when I leave. Bring a FRS radio if you have one, it might be useful if caravaning down there or back home. If you plan to take out the spare tire or anything to reduce weight, you might bring a plastic tarp to lay it on. If you want to experiment with tire pressure, bring some kind of pump.

yeah, long sleeves is not a big deal but I would wear pants. It will be in the 40s-60s , clear skies. They ahve helmets to rent for any car under a 14 in the 1/4.

Its too late to pre-register but we have tons of room and I'll see if we can throw in the t-shirts still.

Thanks for your support, see you all Sunday!

There is a snack bar where they grill burgers and dogs on site.

Event was a total success! Thank you for your participation. We had over 150 cars and we gave out 5 plaques and $1100 in prize money to the top 4 quick 8 winners, thank you all for your support.

I am very tired, and burned, lol so I will keep it brief.

Thank you so much to Christy, Travis and the GA3S team for giving us the opportunity to team together. It went so well, we are already in talks for a 2nd event in the fall.

Thank you to EVERYONE that participated and made it happen!! We could not have done it without your support. It was great to see old faces, new faces, familar cars and new ones and so many other clubs/car forums there. I am sure the drive back and to the track gave people some grins

Thanks to Silver Dollar for having a GREAT track, prepped and read to go and awesome workers.

Congratulations to all our winners, we will post all the names later with times. Clark Gable won first with $525 for his 10.7 second 1/4 mile run!!

:toast: :toast: :toast: :toast:

Mike

From SELOC Dan (GGPIS300) won fastest forced induction Lexus with a time of 13.1 seconds and Don (CarbonAltezza) who just bought his car Thursday, modded it Friday, brought it out Sunday, won best normal aspirated Lexus.

It would appear that I need a faster car!!!!!

Perhaps next time I will get that jet engine in place.

Wait a minute...... a jet engine may fit into the back of our E55 wagon!!!!!

Limited mods, it could work!

Let me know if you find the vids, I would love to see them!

Thanks again for inviting us! It was a very fun day.

Next time I will bring out our E55T wagon on drag radial and see if it can get in the 11's. It ran 12.5 last time it was at Silver Dollar on stock rubber. 60' times were 2.0 and 2.1, traction was a huge problem that Sunday!
