CBlack,

Good on you, you will be amazed with the resultant behaviour of the vehicle after the header is fixed. Like I said, Kleemann RULES !

Some latest updates on mods....has been advised by someone that the Torque converter of our M271 can be implemented by revising some changes within the converter itself. However, the torque converter has to be implemented in the states. The resultant effect will be the quick gear change from one to another....has anyone heard about this ?

Your Kleemann header looks yummy!
May I know how much does it cost in SG? Kleemann is selling EUR1050 in Denmark.

Here are some screenshots of the header, the header comes complete with the huge high flow metallic cats with the downpipes.

The fellows from MBM did a great job on the installation of the headers. Man, the drive and the pull is awesome , the car pulls without any hesitation, back pressure is eliminated for sure. Besides, when the car surge forward at high rev, I felt the "G" and my seat belt is locked... The car doesn't behave as if it is supercharge, it pulls like a turbocharge vehicle.

I am very satisfied, one of the best mods I have I must say. Go try it out and you know what I mean !

MBM, two thumbs up for you ! Casper from Kleemann, if you are reading this thread, you guys are top-notched !

Wanted: MB E Class (W211) for S2006 World Bank Meeting in Sept '06

Hi there.
Not quite sure whether I'm welcome in this forum but I guess this is probably the best way to speak to a group of MB W211 Owners. If I have offended anyone in any way, I do apologise for this intrusion. Allow me to introduce myself. I manage the largest limousine company (C&P Rent-A-Car Pte Ltd) in Singapore and have secured quite a few orders for MB E Class for the upcoming World Bank Meeting. I would like to rent some MB E Classes, either driven by my chauffeurs or you can choose to drive the cars yourselves to ferry my VIPs. Either way is fine. If you or your friends are interested, please do email me your contact number at winyen@candp.com and my staff will get in touch with you shortly.

Thank You.

ijs,

Wow, the Kleemann is selling 1050 Euro in Denmark ? Where did you get this info from ? For 1050 Euro, I have a group of M271 owners waiting...at least 8of them..

I have checked online, Kleemann is selling more than 1600 Euro at their webshop, this excludes freight and installation...Freight will be at least another 100 Euro at least and local installation will be an additional cost factor....

So when are you going to get yours fixed ?

Am a newcomer... Just got an SLK200K (also having an E60/5-series and gave up waiting for the new Z4) and thinking of modding the following:

1) Kleemann performance kit
2) AMG Brakes (355mm FRT 6-pots and 328mm RR 4-pots)
3) Kleemann header unit

My mileage is 900+ now... should I wait until the recommended 1500 run-in before attempting any mods? I have the full AMG kit and 225-40/245-35-R18 AMG Rims and Eagle F1.

Questions:

Does the Sprint Booster really help? Will it cause the car to uncontrollable surge forward at the slightest touch of the gas pedal?

Anyone has a dyno on the Kleemann kit (with or without the header units)? At what rpm does the 210bhp and 300Nm torque gets achieved?

With these two mods, a mod SLK200K would be more powerful than a stock SLK280 (228bhp and 300Nm) at significantly lower roadtax... something has to give right?... but what will it be?? Engine wear/tear? Noise level? Fuel consumption? Jerkiness?

I am not a technical person... but what does the 6-pots vs 4 pots vs 2 pots mean?

slkfans: how much does the Header Unit cost? Is it a better mod than the performance kit or it goes hand in hand? which one should one try first? Thanks!

RSLK,

It will be best of both worlds if you can have the Kleemann performance kit as well as the header kicks in. IMO, have the performance kit installed first and feel the gains as you drive....I guess it is appropriate to go on an incremental basis (stages) to observe the power gains....

Spring booster is a must obviously

Hi guys, I"m new here .... glad to see we have our own mercs community who are just as enthusiastic in boosting our rides.

I'm currently driving a W211. =)

I hope someone here would be able to recommend a few spray painting workshops. I kinda intend to change the colour of my car.

And also if anyone knows if there's any lip set available for my car? i've always prefer a subtle change.

Thanks for your help.

Previous Ride:
W203 - Lorinser kit, rims, kleeman pulley, remus
5 series - car overturned - total loss
Now: W211

Hi

I am also driving a W211 and changed the colour of my car. You can approach Yew Lip at Sing Ming Ind Park and ADSL at Ubi Ind Park for a quote.

Like you, I also prefer bodykit mods that are subtle. I was thinking of adding in a boot lip or a lip for the front bumper. IMHO, the nicest lips are from Carlsson but they are not cheap. A US vendor from this forum quoted me US$900 for one lip from Carlsson, including shipping. Kinda expensive and so I decided to shelve the idea. Visit the websites of Carlsson, Schatz, Lorinser, Renntech, MKB etc to see which tuner's lips you like the most.

You can find replica lips from other less well-known names or from vendors on ebay but there is a risk that the fit is not good. If you can find a good one, I can always be persuaded to join you in a mini-group buy.
