KONI Frequency Selective Damping ("FSD")

Anyone knows about this shock absorber?

I have always worry that lowering the ride will compromise comfort but then I come across KONI FSD.

According to KONI's website (www.koni-fsd.com), the FSD is suppose to end the compromise between comfort and road-holding. According to KONI this new feature can be used as an integrated part of the hydraulic valving system inside the damper. Consequently no additional cables, sensors, or any other electronic devices are needed to operate this system. It operates fully hydraulic and frequency selective and is therefore an economical and effective solution to improving a car’s handling. It will give Ride and Handling Engineers a constructive, additional variable in fine-tuning the car’s behaviour.

This shock absorber is currently only available for w203, w209 and w211 excluding air matic dual control and 4 matic.

I am very keen in this product. Do you think I should go for it?

I have no experience with koni shocks but some guys in the forums seem to like them. In terms of comfort, im really happy with my bilsteins and eibachs. The bilsteins made a huge difference (much more comfortable) when i installed them with my existing eibach springs. Had the stock avantgarde shocks before.

hi bro, mercs-c,

its not a messy wiring job, as the door sill comes already with the wiring set. Just need to lay it properly, & would say it is very easy to install!,

i got my mech to install it at $40 for the set of 4!

Hi

S$40 for installation of the whole set of door sills is very cheap. I paid more when I installed the door sills for my E Class.

Those of you who have small children should train your kids not to stand on the door sills as they board the car. The illumination on my friend's door sill "kaput" after his daughter stepped on the sill repeatedly.

heehee, currently me single, so no worries of any kids, but will sure warn my gal-friends to watch their heels when they board the car..

Bro

No offence, but with the recent spate of car thefts in Johor Bahru (JB), I don't think it is a good idea to meetup in JB. By the way, I am Malaysian in case anyone flames me for being anti-Malaysian. The other car clubs from Singapore do not stop in JB when they go for their drives in Johor.

very worthwhile after fixing it as outside cost S$360 per set. very nice; no regrets. somemore now at half price. any audio shop can install. next time if you sell your w203, dismantle and sell as 2nd hand.

only 1 set for W203 with BLUE lighted "MERCEDES" logo. batam uncle is keen to get 1 set as spare.

if more guys are keen, can place order. interested, can call 96678989 or email allentoh@singnet.com.sg on your preference like "AMG" or "Mercedes" logo

regards

I am slighly uncomfortable with the wires laying beneath the car mats.

Would prefer that its more professionally done as in all wires hidden inside the door sills area.

Still, thanks for the info on your mech.

Awaiting your COOL pics!

I think the price is very attractive and no doubt it will definitely looks very nice.Me keen on a set with the "Mercedes" as mine not a AMG.

Only doubt is that unsure of installation costs and where to get it done.Once this is sorted should be a "ON".

Any bros here already installed can guide the way?

well its not those just below the car mats, its hidden beneath like those speaker wires...the set comes with the wiring that is long enough to lay those mats...."those mats are not removable unless you remove the car seats!" u get what i mean???
