It puts everyone in danger. I have seen on some local runs here subarus and integras slam in to BMWs and Benzes because the owners of the less expensive imports thought they were able to keep up. It puts many drivers in to an ability range that they can not compete with some of the stock german cars that are UBER performance...

55Fanatic,
I am truly thank you for bringing this up to the table. I am 100% agree with your point. The major reason why we are going for high end cars is the safety. A lot of people should not behind the steer wheel regarding what kind of cars they are in. For my point of view, I do expect everyone has a level of respect to everybody on the road or at the meet. This is a MB meet at the very first place and we do open up for all the car enthusiasts. We are not going to post a threat at some JP import forums or any other car forums. However, the people who are asked to join us are brothers/sisters, close friends, or AUDIT drivers. We should have taken this chance to show other people how we are appreciating what we have and make influence on them.

We are still open for all the vehicles, but you have to know the person/people who you bring with you are also represented who you are. I also believe the people who check out the MB forums are not the kind of people would like race everyone on the public road. Overall, we all do want to have a fun and safe meet, right?

Once again, thanks 55fanatic brought this up for us.

Think it's more important that the folks are car enthusiasts and respectful people, not where their car was made.

Well not to stereotype car owners, but the majority of jap import car enthusiasts are what they are because they're in for the cheap speed.

the majority of german car owners who pay tens of thousands more for their cars wont be carelessly endangering their own car and the lives of everyone else on the road

why is it you type in 'civic integra race' on youtube and you get like 10 billion vids of those cars racing on the streets

but when you type in 'mercedes bmw race' you get track footage? haha

not true at all... not everyone can get in to the cars we have. It is more about kids who are imature with what they have. I have seen a lot of tool bags in C classes, 3 series, Es, M3's.... that are way too imature to be driving what they have, the way they do.

IIRC, one of the members who is coming to this meet has a built CRX and I for one am working on a Budget track car... I paid $300 for the car... I would get beat all day long by some civics...

I do wholeheartedly agree with 1985MB380SE, but find that it is easier to just eliminate the group and make exceptions for some people then give the invitation and have people that pose a danger for everyone, show up

I agree with that. Next, I guess that kev will go to that "they're all jealous of the Benz" fallback position.

However, I still don't understand why people with different car makes have any desire to go to another make's meet. It's like barging in on a family reunion.

Sometimes I go to get some mod advice from other makes... when you keep it in the family, the mods are always similar. Plus I like to learn about some other cars...

Most of the meets Ive put together as of late have been pretty open to everyone. Im getting bored of the same ol Benz, Silver Benz, Black Benz, White Benz, Silver Benz, Red Benz, White Benz, Blue Benz, Black, Black, Black, Silver...

I want some lime green and some Yellow... Give me some italian, lol

The rice grinders have trouble keeping up, and most have major trouble stopping. Tiny disc brakes just don't cut it. A fart cannon and a chip does not a driver make.
Don't know if I can make it, getting very hooked on autocross.

I am planning having everyone meet at the park around 11 AM. After lunch at the snack bar, we could either hang out at the beach or have a ride to somewhere.

So far, I am planning have two meet points at CT, one on the RT-9 and one on the RT-95 near new haven area.

I am working on finding meeting points for NYC and Boston area. Any suggestions from those two locations? Any volunteer from NYC area to be the contact person?
