my plan is two seperate days... Last two years I put together the AMGfest weekends, but with the worst luck ever we were rained out the first year and I was forced to cancel the second day and the second year, the skies opened up on us at the autocross on the second day. I would love to get everyone on Day 1 to go to Captree and then Kart racing, then Day 2 to do a Bear mountain run?

I'm in...definately down to participate in my first MB meet. When I started modding my car my wife actually looked at me and said..."Do people actually spend all of this money on their cars?" I replied yes and now I'll be able to put to tell her I actually met everyone.

I see it!
Maybe I can come to this also.
Let me see what my schedule is. I need to go to the Met Museum - I have to get started on the next season.
I was planning on going next saturday or the saturday after.
Will DEFINITELY keep this in mind. I'd like to join!

Hi P,
I have put up a route for couple of us from central CT. I don't know what's your plan would be, but I hope we would be able to meet up at some point.
We are going to meet at the community parking lot by the Exit 15 on 84W at 10 AM ( please let me know this is OK for everyone).
We are going to take 84 W all the way to Exit 10 on 84W on the NY side (~56 miles)
Take RT9W SOUTH then left into Serious twists on Storm King Highway (218) will take us into West Point Military reservation ( West Point ) .
Following the RT293 will take us through the reservation to RT6 East into Harriman State Park (seven lakes parkway SOUTH supposed to be a great road, we will see)
Take the RT6 East then turning into Seven Lakes Parkway NORTH into Bear mountain State Park .
According to the tour guy, we have to visit the Perkins Memorial Tower atop Bear Mountain
After the Bear Mountain state park, we are going north on Bear Mountain Bridge
We are going to take RT9D North right after the bridge which is another twist road along with the Hudson River side.
The RT 9D NORTH will turn into RT 6 and lead us back to RT84 Exit 11 (Then take off for HOME) (This route should be ~100 miles, but don’t take my word on it)
OR We can take RT 301 East which would take us into Clarence Fahnestock State Park ( which would be another 25 miles of “back road” )
This road would lead us back to RT84 around Exit 18
I don’t know where we can take lunch yet, but we will see as the day goes. Unless you know something about the area, that would be great.
The route would be change upon to our feeling and decision. NO matter which road we take, we would have fun anyway.
We are going to have about 6~7 cars and if anyone is interested in who are more than welcome to join us.
This is just my 2 cents.

excites your girlfriend
Pete, for the Bear Mountain portion of the meet I have to take you guys on my #1 favorite road in all of New York state: Lake Kanawauke Rd/Rt 106.
This is actually in Harriman State Park, right next to Bear Mountain running from 7 Lakes Dr to Greenwood Lake, NY.
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...1929&z=12&om=1
Seriously this road has the perfect racetrack like setup, it passes through the woods alongside several pristine lakes with probably a hundred very sharp turns and elevation changes.
route:
great spot to practice drifting technique:
