FL city to city Car events new $1000+ fines added
Wow I sometimes run in some of the city-to-city Car events that take place in FL and we sometimes take it over 50+ on top of the current posted MPH. I will think more about going 20+ mph over the posted limit now these new fines are in use.
Just to let everyone understand it is not safe going beyond the posted speed on any public roadway and in the past when we did their were no other cars around us. But this is still very dangerous to do so don't.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Not so fast.
Under a Florida law that took effect this month, drivers will be hit with fines of more than $1,000 if they get busted for going 50 mph over the speed limit.
And for motorcyclists, there are additional new rules, including a ban on lifting their front wheel off the pavement, also known as "popping wheelies."
If drivers get caught going more than 50 mph over the limit a second time, they will have to pay more than $2,500 and lose their license for a year. Drivers will have to pay $5,000 for a third offense and forfeit their license for 10 years.
Previously, the harshest penalty was $250 for exceeding the speed limit by more than 30 mph. This penalty is still in effect.

If you triple the speed limit in FL its attempted man slaughter (felony) and you go to jail. So if you are doing 50 over in a 25 or 30, you could get fined your $1k. but more importantly go to jail for a while. Even if you are in a 60. doing 180, wich some of these cars do, can be very costly.
