i was thinking this too, but does MB have a beef if the car is tuned? i'm not sure if this effects the air bags and its failure to deploy...

Im sure the auto body will hire a mercedes tech with access to the star system to complete the repair (doubt it can be done correctly without it) Have him check the system first. If he is in agreement the air bags should have deployed put the stock ecu program back in. The cost should be about $100 to restore the ecu and the same to add it back after the dealer checks it out.
