i highly recommend this.
i took my 16 yr old daughter to long island event in july.
and she only has a NYS learners' permit.
well worth it and fun for the kids too.
i learned stuff myself!

Teen drivers
I agree, all of my kids participated in SCCA auto-x as they were learning to drive. It is a great and safe way to learn the limitations and behaviors of their cars in a manner that is safe for car and driver. As dad, I got to ride along and coach them. My son still competes in SCCA and other track related events. It was a good experience for all of us.
