Notice on Gatherings... Must Read if you want to Coordinate a Gathering...
This is the time of year for annual GTGs, so I'd like to reiterate the rules for posting notices here...
Members can recruit others for an MBWorld GTG, of course, and promote such here.
Members can NOT recruit MBWorld members for GTGs directly sponsored by other websites, groups, clubs, etc.
What this means is simple... If there is a show promoted by someone other than MBWorld.org, you CAN recruit members to attend as a MBWorld Group to represent the site at XYZ Event... but you can't promote the event itself by posting a poster sporting the notation of the primary sponsor, or any advertisers.
For instance, Texas Motor Speedway (TMS) has two charity events every year in the DFW area. In the past, Dallas area MBWorld members have solicited fellow members to form an ad-hoc "MBWorld group" to attend the "TMS Charity Drive Night." To comply with the rules, all that is posted here is the date and time, and location, directions, etc.
However, it is not permissible to mention the TMS Charity Drive Night is "sponsored by TMS, and XYZ through ABC Businesses, DEF Mercedes Club, etc." Even if those sponsors are also MBWorld sponsors.
Most of the events posted here are fine. Those which have posters emblazoned with graphics announcing a non MBWorld Club as primary sponsor of the event and advertising... are not.
Your compliance with these simple rules are appreciated.
