khelawanbe, I think you singlehandedly changed my girl's mind about buying goodies for my ride, so thank YOU lol. The amount of work you have put into your car is astounding and the results are nothing short of jaw dropping. My neck still hurts from looking back and forth between your car and Danny's SL

Thank you very much for the kind words. One needs to be very careful with modding these cars, because things can go downhill very quickly if the mods are rushed. I tried to take my time, and invested lots of planning into every mod. I feel very happy and satisfied knowing that fellow Benz owners approve of my CLS

My tribute to you Khelawanb.

These are few pictures of Brent's CLS555, it started out as a CLS 550, he then added the 5.5L SC engine. He competes in custom car shows, and has won numerous shows.

The supercharger has been chromed and polished, the surge tanks have been painted and and the AMG lettering have been ploished. Even the TB was polished. Not to mention the CF intake tubes. This is a really nice job.

You may be able to see the Carbon Fiber weave pattern, in the wheels. I really don't know how brent had this done, it isn't painted. I believe maybe their dipped.

The stereo is awesome, and sounds great. Alot of money has been put into this. He even had a WII incorporated.

The interior is all custom, great job.

Now that the pictures have been posted, maybe we will get more participation, the next time we have this. We did get alot of onlookers, guys in their Bimmers, and Dodge Challengers driving by. We even had two Prince Georges County Police Officers, stop by and talked to us, while checking out the cars. One mentioned that he had a Mercedes but wasn't an AMG. He also mentioned that the Dodge boys were doing donuts in the parking lot. He said that AMG guys are more upscale, and that he knew we wouldn't act like lunatics. And he was right, none of guys showed off, burning rubber and such. But what a great day for ice cream. I really enjoyed myself, being around other AMG enthusiasts.

Indeed.

I'd be down for making this a monthly meet. The same location would be fine as well (as long as security doesn't hassle us again. lmao). Also, maybe make it on Saturdays, as I got the feeling lots of people left early (probably because of work the next day?).

I hear you, it was nice to have a parking lot full of AMG's. And no one acting doing donuts. The ice cream was a welcome relieve from the heat. Lets do it again

Thanks for coming out everyone, I had an absolute blast spending time with fellow enthusiasts, and I think we can all agree that there was a strong feeling of mutual respect and awe at each others' cars! I'm so happy Brent and Danny came, as they really took the mod work to another level. Next time, it'd be great if we incorporated a short drive on the highway together, as long as people are prepared with video cameras, that would be amazing and really help spread the word

All in all, great group of people, I'm privileged you all came through, and I'd be happy to have you again whenever and as often as you'd like! I'll make sure security doesn't hassle us next time either!!

Drive safe, keep 'em clean, and let's link up again real soon!

AMG Sleeper,

I just knew that posting our pictures would, make all the difference in recruiting more AMG enthusiasts. I have also posted our pictures in the AMG Private Lounge, and received numerous accolades about them. My friends 6Point3 from Annapolis, and MBFinatic from VA would like to attend to our next meet. Lets start planning for the next one

Wish I could go to the private lounge
Maybe after I buy my next MB, which might be the new C63 coupe, especially if they make one with the twin turbo V8 motor. I would be all over that

So just to put out a feeler, how soon would everyone want to get together again? I'm happy to host again (and my apologies for not having coupons prepared, it was an oversight amidst a hectic weekend!), but I'm open to ideas. Would anyone consider incorporating some light food or a brunch? That, plus a short drive on the beltway would perhaps make for more of an "event"... Open to thoughts on this?

Whatever we decide, I'm already looking forward to seeing everyone again and hopefully some more new rides added to the pack soon!

For August, the 20th or 21st. I need at least a week's heads up to take off work. 27th/28th is no go for me.

For September, the 18th would be the only time that'd work. H2Oi comes up the weekend afterwards.

AMG Sleeper,

I'm done for whenever, makes no difference to me. But I rather have dates that would accomodate our new friends. Wouldn't want to leave them out. Light food is okay wityh me.
And I drive would be nice as long as no one is acting like a lunatic. None of us needs a speeding ticket.

Since, some of you don't have access to the AMG Private Lounge. I thought that I would share some of the thoughts from my friend JEFF M, from Minnesota. We typically correspond back and forth regularly. Anyway, here is what he had to say about the thread.

Jeff M, writes:
That is an astonishing collection of vehicles , for sure the white sponsored vehicles is off the roof out there with custom work that shows great amounts of time and detail to workmanship, and the SL the same, major works of art, and I don’t often see cars so well done all around, seems some place they went a little too overboard that spoils the rest, but not these rides, they look as well thought out as factory, but so much more! Love the white and silver C55, that is such a clean car, the lines are ones that will never age, will always look awesome, and the white works so well for that body style, rims too, they make the car! Nice older CLK 55 and C43, clean machines of the same breed/AMG! All of them just amazingly cool cars!

Now Jeff M, is giving me heartburn over my cars.

And I got to say something about your car, Yuille36 it sucks , yea, I said that, why is it that your car is that nice looking but your avatar or whatever just shows the back of two 63 cars from a thousand feet back , wassup with that!!! I don’t know what your other car looks like but dang boy, this one here is gorgeous, it at least needs to be in your avatar with a shot like this, its wasting away with that distant butt-shot , please, bring it forth . I love the front lip, it looks so good I cannot tell if you added it or it was stock/option? The fog lights in chrome trim match the rest of the car’s chrome and all go really well with that color, what is that color? That is a gentlemen’s gun metal metallic or? The shine really stands out on that color (still not a fan of flat black, but that’s me), and the rims/tires, wheel well filled just right, rims got some dish to them, spokes with maybe some body-color matching gray too? You have been holding out on me/us, come on, show the goods .

All in all and even to the little details which were covered, this was a great turn out, needs to happen again (in a couple of months so everyone is ready to do it again). Sure everyone there enjoyed themselves immensely, I know I would having all those cars to check out in person, and it sounds the owners are all new guys (and gals?) as well. Congrats, when you do it, you really do it !

Sorry I missed this meet! looked like a great turnout. I know lots of locals in the DMV that would have joined me if I would have known in time. I'm down for the next meet!

Just keep your ears open, as we're planning another one very soon. You might also want to send AMG Sleeper a PM, as he's the architect of this whole meet.

No, no, it was a joint brainchild of myself and Yuille36, and with the great feedback and wonderful participants from the first run, we're hoping to link up again real soon. As mentioned previously, I'm happy to host again as well, and we'd love to invite more AMG enthusiasts to attend, mingle and hopefully go on a short drive together this time

To tentatively get the conversation started for DMV AMG Meet 2, how do we feel about Aug 20, Aug 27 or Sept 3? All are upcoming Saturdays, and it would also give us flexibility should we need to bump it to a Sunday in the event of rain. Please feel free to offer a preference as to date, and we'll get another organized real soon!

Aug 20th is fine with me. I'm talking to Brian @ Euromotorcars, they were working on the C63 Coupe Introduction scheduled for the 28th. I sent him and email, asking for information on the event. As I was told earlier, they might not have the car for this event, so it might get cancelled. I will know more on this later, once he replies back.

Well, after just talking to Brian, it doesn't look like they will get the car, unless the AMG trainers at Corporate Headquarters are able to pull a rabbit out of their hats. They have come through in a pinch in the past. So we will see what happens, either way, the 20th or the 27th is good for me. I'm just throwing this out there, just in case we could incorporate the AMG Performance Center into the meet, along with the C63 Coupe introduction.

I was reading about Cars & Cofee and it got me to thinking. Maybe one Saturday we all could attend the Cars & Coffee event in Great Falls, VA?
I know that there has never been a large number of AMGs to ever attend one of these events.
